Demonstrating some of the disturbingly inventive thinking and equally disturbing candid honesty Japan’s sex criminals are known for, one chikan has explained that the reason he was caught with his hand up a girl’s skirt was so “I could save money on brothel expenses.”
The 57-year-old Shizuoka man, a deputy editor at a Shizuoka paper of news, was originally found to have travelled all the way to Tokyo to grope the thighs and nether regions of an unfortunate 18-year-old freeter.
She grabbed him by the hand and dragged him to station staff at Ikebukuro station, which led to his arrest on charges of violating Tokyo’s stringent anti-chikan ordinances.
He explained his motivation with some candour:
“I came to Tokyo on the shinkansen to visit the brothels at Ikebukuro, but it was a waste of money so I groped someone instead.”
His boss at the paper felt moved to apologise for employing such a miserly pervert:
“It is most regrettable for one of our reporting staff to accused of such a crime. We will take strict action once the facts become clear.”

So, chick’s strong enough to drag him by hand (romantic, if you think about it) to the cops, but wouldn’t just kick his ass and call it a day? Cause most elsewere in the world, a guy does that, gets slapped across the face, and that’s that. You don’t call the cops when the thing injured is your pride.
I know japanese have a different… mentality, when it comes to that, but this is ridiculous.
