If the list is to be believed, about the only safe things for women to like are probably cooking and Hello Kitty – though not too much in either case.
Actual Japanese males (or those on 2ch at any rate) are surprisingly magnanimous about the list, as might be expected of the desperate:

and it also depends on whether or not you're going for "dating" or a "serious relationship" which the article doesn't really make clear, since people will answer based on what they've personally experienced or how they were raised to think that one exists while the other doesn't.
Since it's all based on where you grew up and what "community raised you." Then I'll quickly clarify; the only difference between dating and something serious for me is while dating, I'm ok with her seeing other guys because Im definitely gonna be interested in other girls.
As for something serious then for me it is just 9 off THAT particular list, but yeah, HEAVY drinker, out, HEAVY smoker, out, addict, there go three strikes.
Dating? fine with both smoking and drinking, but leave the addicts out still, and not even 9 matters on dating because I'm not seriously considering anything long term anyway.

Yea, my exact reaction as well. I'm an comp engineer and little over half my department at work are females. On top of that a certain percentage of them do mod things, but rarely do they mod cars. They usually mod stuff in their homes. Some examples are hidden doors, voice activated locks, automatic curtain openers, etc.
