Afaik, military life is rather unlike civie life, lot more rules to contend with. Has to do with them being held to a higher standard than a regular person, precisely because they're allowed to use lethal force.
It's also happened in the US, some Lt. also a communication specialist. Unfortunately for her, she made the mistake of wearing parts of her uniform (jacket, cap and boots iirc), so she got canned for doing that.
While it looks like she didn't break any official regulations, it's quite likely the higher ups made it clear, either the site goes down, or you can kiss your career goodbye.
Heck, remember the Cathay Airway Stewardess/Pilot story a few days ago? If they're found they'll also get canned.
