The End of Aya Hirano: “I Quit” “My Fan Club is Closed”

Aya Hirano has announced that she has “decided to quit” her agency Space Craft, and that she has closed her fan club (which apparently still had members) as well.
In a lengthy (for Hirano) update on her official blog, she claims that in fact she intended to quit her agency all along, having been engaged in stalled negotiations to leave since last year.
Hirano’s explanations have not always accurately reflected the actual course of events, but even her explanation does seem compatible with the leaked explanation that she was stripped of her musical career as punishment for having sex with her band and sexually harassing her recalcitrant bassist, only to be liquidated by the agency by way of the recent leaks, all of which seem to have come from sources close to the agency itself.
In fact the only allusion she makes to the scandal that has engulfed her is a conspicuously oblique one:
“I had intended to officially announce the closure of my fan club via this blog and Twitter on the 20th, but due to a variety of overlapping and astonishingly unexpected circumstances, so as not to further worry fans I will be bringing forward the announcement.”

It is not clear whether the closure of her fan club was forced by her departure from her agency, or whether it was simply down to the sheer difficulty of maintaining a fan club in the absence of actual fans.
She gives no specific information as to the future direction of her career, although apparently she still entertains the notion that there will be one:
“We’ll be arranging future developments here after on a daily basis, so there should be happy announcements to follow.”
On the other hand, the only concerns being voiced by “fans” at this stage appear to be over whether Haruhi should be recast and when Hirano will make her appearance in an AV…

I personally couldn't imagine any other Haruhi. Not that anybody would be interested in a pirate's opinion.

It's Konata that's the main apocalyptic problem. I don't think there's anyone who can do her voice except Aya herself.

Hell we dident need Aya anyway, we have Wendy Lee, shes damn good here in the states and she voiced the english cast of Konata. so what if the next person for Konata is terrible. the english voice actor will make up for it.
Dude Pachira can be replaced. ITOU KANAE, the Seiyuu who turns Tsundere chara to life. The Real Issue is the Chaotic Konata. Only Hirano can voice her (and GAK too)

the problem is, and i know this is hard for the diehard Aya fanboys/girls to get, is her career is defined, driven, and maintained by those otaku.
the only music of hers that sold well was related to an anime she was starring in.
since she hasn't recently and none of her music was being used for OP/EDs, all her singles after those first 2-3 have bombed.
her career as a variety show talent was thoroughly ridiculed by the mainstream as well as otaku.
her attempts at acting haven't gotten much better reviews.
speaking of acting, the only moderately major TV acting role she's gotten to date was a live action anime adaptation.
no matter how much she and her fans would like to think otherwise, she's shown ZERO talent outside of anime voice acting, and none of her activities to go beyond anime have gained much traction.
her ONLY successes have been in regards to anime or anime-related media.
which means those otaku still make her career whether she likes it or not.
Well, currently she's still voicing Lucy if I'm not mistaken. At the very least I hope that maintains, because it's also very bad to shift voice actors mid-series for any reason. And if she does a good job there, this will hopefully blow over and she'll quietly get more roles.
She is a talented actress, and very personable in public, but she can get better. Sadly they judge her a lot of the ways people judge games and anime other people have told them about. They judge her as a Seiyuu actress and not an actress. Whether she's good or bad at it, they just make her out to be this petulant Seiyuu who thinks she can act, rather than just saying "Noble effort, but her voice is stronger than her acting, she could do with some lessons and she could shine" or something.
All I know is I will be severely depressed if she loses everything to this short-sighted, otaku bullshit. I've seen her in person, and she really is just a wonderful presence.
Don't try to reason with rabid overseas fanboys/girls. They are no different with crazy otakus. They can't accept the fact that their godly seiyuu idol isn't as talent as they imagine.
They always think goddess Aya is oh-so-good with everything. VA, music, drama and stage acting are her pieces of cake. The reason why she went down like this is because of creepy otaku causing her bad reputation, which is only 1/10 true.

If you have a daughter or a close female friend, or maybe a girfriend whom you care so much. See's aya's talent, admire her and adore her. Even take her as a role model. Suddenly learns about this sad truth. What does that say about the whole thing? You don't know, there are school girls, and other girls who does look up to her. Forget the otaku's. I would like to agree with you because I respect her work as a seiyuu, but she's shown everyone she's not a team player and will do crazy things. That kind of thing is not tolerated in Japan. And although she was a good actress, there are plenty of replacements waiting in the wings.
