Otaku denizens of NicoNico Douga have devised the definitive ranking of what are, to their notoriously warped minds at least, the best anime of the 21st century to date.

Number one be damned they didn't even MENTION Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari or what about how ZnT is so low Iran for fucks sake how the hell did Seed get higher than ZnT. Just baffles me okay seed is good but ZnT is truly Sep Sergio show then again I guess purely analytically seed could be better but still a messed up list.

Ah well, I agree most in this list; K-on isn't that high (hence saved from getting bashed by haters) and titles worth mentioned (God bless those who still remembers Shana) happened to be there as well. My only problem is there are hardly any 2000-2005 anime in there. Seriously, guys? Uchuu no Stellvia? Chrno Crusade? Gungrave? Peacemaker Kurogane? Azumanga Daioh? ..... Green green?

Not a masterpiece tbh but definitely an ecchi show in the early 2000 which I will never forget.

I don't even understand, no matter how shitty the lists are, how Monster never makes them. Not like I've been expecting anything from these for quite a while now, but I'm still always baffled.
Nor Monster or Master Keaton, it's simple Tenma/Keaton are too "westerny characters" to be even considered anime, they are more likely to be related in a bookshelf of an ancient library along with other classic masterpieces.
(In reality they just dont have pointless moe fanservice that plagues the rest of the list)

There's nothing to dislike about it. I think it's too slow paced by it's one or the less than ten anime that anyone could watch if it was on.

Well I agree with you they only listed popular anime. And why the heck they didn't include Nurarihyon no Mago? It isn't that bad storyline anime series. Instead they include Natsume Yuujinchou also story about human and yokai.
Well, anime of Nurarihyon is worst compared to the manga...

There are some really bad shows out there, but they don't get as much air time. Everyone's seen the top ten tho, and they can pick two or three they didn't like. Which explains how shows like K-on get on the top of EVERY list.
A real top worst list would probably be more accurate if you made a top 100 best and took the last ten as being the least popular.
I want a system which goes like "have you seen this? was it good?"
so if someone hasn't watched an anime they can't dislike it and where the results are based on percentage of positive/negative results for the second question rather than most selected anime.
I want a system that just asks what they've watched, and then to rank just those shows. Then we'll see just how few people know wtf they're talking about.

Clannad is gay and silly. The character design makes eyes bleed with the triangle-chins and outrageous highlights. /spoiler And resurrection-endings are cheap, lame and gutless //spoiler. Admittedly I dislike melodrama, but if you really need watch something like that, go watch ef.

If you understood it as a "resurrection" ending then you are sadly mistaken, watch again. It's a little more profound than that.
On a side note, why is Infinite Stratos on this list at all?
Clannad most certainly is overrated. It's popularity and success hinge on one big dramatic event, and the rest of the anime is pretty much mediocre Key drama. But Key drama is popular, and popularity and drama always trump everything else.
I only remember the bad ending, not the r-ending.

Isn't me or does something wrong with the rating? I mean Ghost in the shell is included when I watch the OAV 2 I felt asleep when I wake up its already over the credit rolling but the first is awesome.

Yeah I mean its probably measure by the sales of video disc in the market. They don't include the people watching steaming videos(or downloading pirated videos).

TBH, I'm just glad the list also included movies of note (Toki o Kakeru Shoujo, Spirited Away). Often these "lists" are just late-nite anime from the last 1-2 years. What a joke.
I guess expanding the list to 50 and an 11-year period helps.
well naturally anime from 1-2 yrs would be much fresher in our memories than something 10 years ago forgotten in time....
But does anyone else notice that the list generally goes from more recent to older anime as you go down? This isn't much better than any other top whatever anime list.
