I cannot imagine how much effort is made into assembling such a team, composing such an arrangement and then making a very professionally well-done video out of it.
The uploader of the video kineienami is credited in the credits himself. His other videos show his other traditional musical arrangements. Though this one clearly revealed his inner-otaku.
I doubt the musicians themselves had any idea of what Touhou is and are just playing the sheet music much like how orchestras around the world are paid to play anime and video game musics nowadays.
It is exactly this sort of brilliant creativity spawned by something originally 2D that Ishihara and his crazy right-wing goons are trying to destroy.
I wonder if they have ever thought of touring with this and other arrangements like it outside of Japan? I think it would be a fantastic opportunity for some sponsor like Sony or Toyota to promote.
Their performance is simply spellbinding!
