*another brofist*
on another note, wasnt evangelion anime original too? i mean the anime ha sbeen prodiced earlier although the manga ha sbeen published earlier.. or so, wasnt it like that?
Yes, as a matter of fact, it was.
Better a Brofist,... Than a "Bropony".
sighs
Any anime that doesn't include an obligatory beach episode or a sports and culture day episode in the plot line would have to be considered original in my opinion.
They've all been done to death!
Amen to that!!
Could not agree more...
So very true...
what is sad, is a cliche, but i guess is one of the few things where anime close to reality.
I guess it's kinda tradition in japanese youth.
Not sure, though. Might be just my twisted reality because of anime.
The sports thing yes, but the the beach scene lets you see the characters in a way that can confirm or disprove the mysteries of what was left to imagination.
Considering going to spas is heavily promoted in family outings and cultural events are MANDATORY in most schools, and kids at a young age go on beach excursions and girls tends to have fun picking up beach-wear and flaunting it..
I don't know. Maybe it's cliche for a reason.
where is our K-ON?
K-On is based on a four panel comic, so it's not originally an anime
Amen.
It's becoming a stereotype when it comes to school life lol.
1. Sports day
2. Culture festival
3. Summer holidays + beach + onsen
4. Valentines + White Day
5. Christmas
6. New Year
By "original" they meant the origin of the story. Instead of having the common manga based Anime show, it's a list of the best Anime based manga story. Hope that made sense.
Call me a retard, but I recall that Square Enix publishes the Iroha comic and sponsors every TV episode, so I'm not sure it's an original series.
I believe the manga began simultaneously with the announcement of the series (which was way back last year).
yup thats why it's weird that it's on the list
For me its those slice of life, romance types of animes. Usually its based on this lonely (virgin?) male protagonist that goes/transfered to school and meets a girl.then all sorts of crazy stuff happens and then it invetibily turns into a harem(that lucky bastard T^T).I can name a few like shuffle!, Bakatest, Bridge to the starry skies, and clannad(maybe clannad,I just read the first chapter on mangareader and my harem senses started to tingle...or that was the coffee i drank earlier).
don't forget onsen, but i don't really have any problem with that. :D
or a brocon imouto...
Yeah. I liked OreImo, but that was the exception where the characters won me over rather than me liking incest or BroCon sisters. They're often really annoying.
Also agree with all of these. I know High School is an easy setting for anime, but can we have more that aren't in high school? I know some otaku will freak out that their shows aren't bursting at the seams with virginal jailbait high school girls, but I think it'd be a lot better for the writing of the shows and the industry as a whole if they stop setting every damned show there.
I'm happy Cowboy Bebop and Code Geass showed up on this list at any rate. Big O was interesting in a weird way as well. I'm disappoint by the lack of FLCL though, I'm pretty sure that was Anime first.
Wrong definition of "original."
Obviously kanbanmusume only read the top 15 and not the rest of the post...
why is that anime that are recently aired always come to the top?
Well, I doubt the trend for newer anime being more popular is going to stop anytime soon, however... you do have to admit that "original anime" (anime that weren't based on adaptions of other works) have been appearing more frequently today than at least 10 years ago. So seeing many early 2000 and 90's works on this list should be enough to make it close to legit.
At least, in my eyes.
The Big O isn't recent....it gos back to 2005 :)
Well, Cowboy Bebop and Code Geass are pretty old series now.
And I'm surprised Jewel Pet ended 6 months ago and it still is creating buzz.
Animal Detective Kuruminzoo also, I'm surprised how well it's being received like a year after it ended.
cause thats what they want other people to watch...
Very simply because it's new. The newer a thing is, the more vocal its fanbase. To cite a non-anime example, Dark Knight was a good movie, but it's not the greatest movie of all time, yet when it first came out, it popped right to the top of the IMDB list of "best films" and stayed there for months. Avatar managed a similar feat, as did a few others in recent memory.
That's just the way popular culture works.
Because they fresh remembered
a long time anime they probably forgot the tittle
Penquindrum is near the top, and no one is bitching about it!
Fuck yeah, it's my victory~
You have to be either high or drunk to really appreciate the creative art of that show.

What about Higahi no Eden?
Higashi no Eden is excellent!
Wow no more K-ON? I thought it always present in all Top Anime Etc...
It makes me sick to my stomach that Tiger & Bunny is at the top. I mean, the only thing that this anime is good at is attracting the yaoi community. Is this just another broken list or something? I see Madoka Magica as the better anime.
Sadly the only reason it's not here is it comes from a Manga.
yes indeed, It is one of my favorite anime that I've watched in the last 2 years.
