Wonder Festival truly has something for everyone – from dollers to coprophiliacs, and now furries, kemono figure makers presented some sexy furry figures sure to be highly stimulating to some and deeply problematic to everyone else.
Because the OP gets a hardon for Horo and wants to rationalize his insecurities away. Bet he gets some really crazy logic to explain away his attraction for traps too...
Pretty much. The rule for furryism is "It's not furry if *I* like it." There's some complicated Fan-Calculus out there about "the 10% rule" and other such bullshit, which falls apart when you see characters like Final Fantasy 11's Mithras...
.. but it ultimately boils down to the above -- "It's not furry if I like it."
(Amusingly, the new My Little Pony is bringing forth an entire new generation of Furries who would never be caught dead calling themselves that, despite being in the exact same boat as when "Cats Can't Dance" and "Robin Hood" created the previous generation of furs.)
The reason probably lies in the less animalistic face than the fox pictured above. Normally, furries are entirely covered in fur and, depending on how far you stretch it, scales.
@Anon-01:41 Horo isn't classified as furry, because an actual "lack" of complete body fur. However, her and ones with animal ears and animal tails, are called "kemonomimi" in Japanese. In America, the similar distinction would be that Horo is a wolfgirl, and Renamon is a furry, or just fox.
Actually it's not. It's much like when girls get together to try on clothes. We don't do that. So we get together and decide which women are hot. Instead of going artistic and declaring she's got great birthing hips, we're all like "Ah damn, boners in mah pants!"
It's a sexual balance. They decide clothes in groups. We decide which of their clothes we'd like to take off in groups :) ...not in a "Hello in a Japan" kind of group way, more like a collective agreement of beauty. ...unless they're drunk after a football game. THEN it's in a "Hello in Japan" kind of way.
I never really understood the prejudice with furry in the first place. So it's ok to like any kind of monster girls, but when it has fur it's disgusting? Girls with penises are ok, tentacles are ok, furry girls are... not?
Sorry, it's just that I never find myself thinking, "gee, this girl is PRETTY cute, but what would REALLY get me off is if was completely covered in fur and had the head of a fox".
It's the face that's important. Monster girls may have wings, horns, tentacles, or whatever, but they have human faces so they're still hot. When the face looks like an animal instead of a human, then it gets disturbing.
By that same token most girls drawn in an anime style should be considered grotesque: bulbous eyes, wide faces, tiny mouths ect. It's the style of the art that makes something sexy.
"face of a animal better a human. really People gets Rolf to see animal faces With anime atributes sexys atributes...or more were-animal. I dunno.. For me event animal fetich have more sense and logic explanation than lolicon.. Other anatomy..humans have weak anatomy..not powerful in comparison... Well form me That its specist
and a very antropocentric idea to gets Rolf With (but had animal faces.. Well That why you folks. Its gets open-mandes in fiction. At least. Well algo With gorros years ago.
I'm eagerly awaiting the day the "Living with Monstergirl" guy finishes "Life with Werewolf-chan". He's mentioned working on it before. The amount of fandom logic bombs should be hilarious.
Oh ma god, Its Horo's sisters and...brothers?
Horo isn't "furry". QED
Does Naruto and Inuyasha count?
*reviveed*
dont know about naruto though....pwow *nosebleed*
And thats what make her great!
eh heh heh heh
*unstoppable nosebleed*
(as in no fur....*dead from bloodloss*)
Why isn't Horo classed as a furry? This is a serious question.
Because the OP gets a hardon for Horo and wants to rationalize his insecurities away. Bet he gets some really crazy logic to explain away his attraction for traps too...

Gotta love when guys get together to announce they have boners with each other. That's not gay at all.

And there is always someone who tries to hide the embarrassment of getting a boner by trolling them.
Anyone else remember this:
SCHWING!
So hot, she'd give a DOG a bone!
not me. and finally, it stayed up all night and it had started to ache.
Real men admits their boners.

If you just treat the furries from Japan as monster girls it'll be alright.

everyone likes furrys... dont lie to urself!
No, I don't.
*Remembers the Bunny loli from Tenamonya Rangers
Err, there are exceptions sometimes...

Anime girls are certainly heavily stylised, but their faces are still clearly human not animalistic.

Have to agree with you on that one. The only kind of furries I like are usually cat like ones. Their faces don't look as weird as other types.
If you guys ever had an animal with nice furr, like a cat, you would understand a love for furry. As for Horo - all hail to the tail!
And they say a cat is fine too...
LOL
As much as I love Horo if she was my girl I'd have to get her a flea collar since she's always combing them out her tail in the light novels!
