Wave Corporation is granting a Mami Tomoe figure in their Beach Queens line, wearing an agreeably small bikini and not lacking in the bust department.
The figure will be released in January 2012.

I've seen a lot of complaints for this figure (on other sites), but I think she looks pretty good, and I didn't hesitate to pre-order her. :D;;
Maybe it's just me but in my opinion her upper body looks to huge for her legs.
No, it's pretty good, it's the pose. Her legs are flexed since they're on tip-toe, so the anatomy is a bit shifted from relaxed calf, but they could have given a bit more curvature. Every angle here but the front looks off because her breasts are thrust out since she's going into intense posture, as well as the bikini top is lifting her up. I don't remember her having breasts this big, but then there was never a time where I was thinking about her breasts in the anime.
I actually feel this is a very nice figure, different from normal, but the only problem I have is she just doesn't seem like she'd do that pose. If there were a moment in the anime where they were commenting on her body and she playfully walked like that saying something like "I may fight witches, but a girl's still got to look good" or something within her character, then this would be ten times more epic and a must buy, because it would also tribute to a fun moment to her character.

I love Mami to death, but the Beach Queen version just doesn't really do it for me. Out-of-character swimsuit aside, I don't really think the Madoka beach queens look that great. They always put so many details in the body, but the faces are never that detailed, so there's a weird disconnection there.
Personally, I like my figures to have a bit of flair. I like dynamic poses and flowing hair, and clothing that looks like it's being pushed by a gust of wind. The beach queen set never did any of that for me. It's usually just a generic body with a generic swimsuit with a character's head stuck on it. I realize that I'm not the target audience, being female, but they just strike me as boring.
Also, J-list overprices again to pay their advertisers. Otacute has her for nearly $20 less.

Official or not, though, Mami doesn't seem the type to go out and intentionally flaunt a bikini that is much too small for her. Thus the out-of-character remark.
But then again, who am I to dictate the fantasies of fans? I can only speak with my wallet, and other fans can only do the same. I'm sure she'll do well without my support. I'll just stick to my figmas and nendoroids and inevitable Alter releases.
IMO, the biggest problem is that they are only 1/10 scale. Not only is that small, but it's a relatively uncommon scale. I can't display them next to my standard 1/8 figs. Finding a special place to display the occasional 1/7 or larger fig is trouble enough without having to find a way to segregate 1/10 from 1/8.
It's all good except the pozu! Seemed to me Mami was a bit more modest/conservative. If not in clothing in behavior.
I'm good with the rest. In fact I think that her's is one of the more accurate facial expressions to date.
I've always thought that facial expressions were the "must nail" aspect of any figurine. the rest, except for clothing, is just icing on the cake.
But "tippie-toe Mami" is still Mami and I love her still.
