Toyota May Have Miku, But Mazda Has Kirino…

Toyota has Miku, Subaru Pleiades, and now Mazda has been picked up by Kirino Kousaka of Ore no Imouto fame.
Fans are having trouble working out what, if any, connection there is between Ore no Imouto and Mazda – the best guess so far is that it has something to do with the anime’s Chiba setting and the dealership being from Chiba (although Mazda itself is head-quartered in Hiroshima).

I wonder if their commercials would be some dude driving a Mazda while debating his sister on her otaku culture. With Kirino appearing of course.
I would have predicted a commercial where they say "we love our customers that we cut our prices" or "our deals are to die for" with pictures of Ayase, but would be too much puns.

I understand the attraction people have with tsundere characters, but Kirino has always been very annoying to me; if anything, she repels me away from the car. And is she really going to be the mascot? It kind of seems like a picture on a page right now.

If anything, Kirino actually attracts me to buy the car, more so than Toyota's Miku.
They are now using well-known anime girls for advertisements, I bet that the next car company that does this will use Madoka or QB.

Mazdas are very reliable vehicles. They may be 5th largest in Japan, but the cars they sell to US/Europe are Japan-made (Except the Mazda6), and they're Top 3 in JD Power & Associates quality ranking. Other than a history of door rust and lower fuel economy, they're reliable cars that are actually fun to drive.
Short of a Toyota Corolla, they're no less reliable.
Other companies like Nissan and Ford will sell you poorly built ones outsourced from Mexico or China. Now, with Toyota having sudden gas acceleration recalls and Mazda coming up with a 70mpg Mazda2, along with new designs (Mazda Shinari & Minagi), things are looking very good for them.
P.S. The rust history is because due to their small company size, they still use regular or high-tensile steel to make their car bodies, instead of aluminum or carbon fibre, which the richer carmakers like Audi are looking into.

To finish the name's matter off, order does not make a Japanese name correct nor incorrect. Same also applies to most other regions including north and south america.
NOTE: I'm saying "most" only and just because i'm not sure about "all", and i wont give misinformation.
Saying/spelling the family's name first is usually related to respect, and the only major diff between order-changing a Japanese name and a western name, is that changing a western name usually includes a comma (,) to it.
EX:
Toradora's Aisaka Taiga == Taiga Aisaka.
Batman's Bruce Wayne == Wayne, Bruce.
