So many things about this list are terrible.
1.) Fajitas were created in America by an American. There's a reason why traditional Mexican food and "tex-mex" are two different things.
2.) Hamburgers were also invented in America. They started off as "hamburg steaks" - obviously named after the German city - but a cooked meat patty is hardly the hamBURGER we know today. That comes from NYC, when they took the steak and proceeded to stick it on a bun with a bunch of other shit to make it more edible.
3.) I'm also concerned they list "Texas pulled pork" as their BBQ entry. Texas BBQ is known for briskets, not pulled pork. Secondly, any national study/taste test pulled up on BBQ (yes, these things exist - BBQ is srs bsns in the south) typically have Memphis, TN with the best BBQ followed closely by Kansas City, MO. All other BBQ hotspots - St. Louis, Texas, the Carolinas, etc. - rank a distant 3rd after those two cities. So please, don't try to say that Texas trash is the best BBQ in the U.S. - let alone the world.
As a Memphian, I would've been ashamed to see KC on the list instead of us. It's bad enough their ketchup-sugar based sauces are the most popular in the US thanks to KC Masterpiece and Kraft (which tastes like shit btw). But putting Texas above both of us? Well that's downright laughable.
I'm sure I could find a lot more faults, but I'm far too lazy. I'd say I'd expect better of CNN, but after the political scene the past ~3 years, I don't expect anything out of any news network anymore.

Not true actually. There are a ton of Spanish sounding foods that were in fact created in America or popularized from a Mexican dish into something else. The parlance of Fajita is an American creation. The actual dish can be found in Mexico, but the popular terminology it is used today is from America.
America did create a ton of gourmet and of course, it's popular to just bash them and say they have none.
Whats funny is that texas bbq is uniquely BEEF bbq, they are one of the only states that do primarily beef bbq and don't eat pork bbq, everyone else does primarily pork and go so far as saying texas doesn't do bbq because they don't use pork. Texas pulled pork is a fucking oxymoron.

Hamburger is not a German type of food. It was invented in New York City and named after one of Germany's most important port cities to appeal to German sailors.

A ground beef patty, fried and topped with sauerkraut and onions is called a "Hamburg steak". Throw that in a kaiser roll, and you have a 'hamburger', perfect for portability when 19th century Teutonic laborers want a quick lunch.
Hamburger i think only refers to the meat.
Not the whole concept of eating it between two slices of bread which was in fact seen first in america.
But like Frankfurter you can wrap in in bread and put things in it, it'd still be a "Frankfurter" Sausage but called Hot dog.
