IdolMaster 2 Announced for PS3

Namco Bandai has announced it will finally be porting IdolMaster to the PS3, the first time the title has reached the PlayStation after having long been renowned as the mainstay of Microsoft’s few Japanese Xbox exclusives.
The major differences between the port and the original are that the PS3 version will be a “complete edition” incorporating some of the DLC from the Xbox 360 version, and that the game now has an easier difficulty for novice players.
Supposedly the value of the included DLC comes to ¥25,500 – something which looks set to aggrieve the existing victims of the game’s merciless DLC marketing.
Release is due on the 27th of October.
The decision probably follows disappointing sales of IdolMaster 2 on the Xbox 360 – the notoriously fickle nature of existing IdolMaster fans and the now token size of the Xbox 360 market in Japan presumably overcame whatever under-the-table deal Bandai had in place with Microsoft to keep the series exclusive, and the franchise in any case would probably have been doomed had it maintained its aloofness from 95% of otaku gamers.
A sense of betrayal and the memory of Bandai’s notorious beta test ports of its Tales games have ensured outrage amongst Xbox IdolMaster fans – although the boycotts and petitions have yet to surface.

Kentaro Miura bought an Xbox 360 just to play Idolmaster...
He could have waited for the complete PS3 version and worked on Berserk for the time being. But being the addicted gamer Miura is, the chances were slim to none.
PS3 is region free so this is awesome news and i doubt it will ever see English release i will take next best thing i will stumble around with FAQ playing it.
Or simply just take Japanese class. Learn one language, enjoy countless number of videogames, VNs, RAW mangas, etc.
You also get to enjoy exorbitant pricing of many Japanese entertainment goods!

can't do =) first. i'm just just getting hang of English and I dunno how I can possibly fit another language yeah I'm not that bright. Second don't have time I'm working to fuel my figure and games addiction so little time for everything else.
If you have a mobile device, grab a learning app, and spend a few minutes each day (e.g., in the toilet seat) learning Japanese with it.
Just take it as a side thing and it'll be easier. I'm saying this as someone who's not native to English either.

FAQs about Idolmaster has been floating around in gamefaqs. (nothing for Imas2 yet)
the most important things are the idols favorites and dislikes, other than that is just simple game play.
For Imas 2 there is the website where the early players have put up what they've found out.(The 360 peeps) Suffice to say the game is a lot more complicated( relatively speaking with Imas 1) which was prolly why they added easy mode

never happen, Sony will never give up taking royalties for licensing software to use on their platform and I have doubts MS will either. after all, that's the whole point of creating a hardware platform.
on-top-of-which, prior to the PS3 disaster Sony's PlayStation devision was the only remaining side of the business turning a hefty profit. Sony BMG is in the toilet and with the exception of Spider-man, Sony Pictures was taking heavy losses.
see, the PlayStation brand is one of the few aces they have in their deck. if the two work together on anything, it'll be a mobile phone or a tablet.
that said, after the next generation, jap consoles are dead. in another decade all they'll be releasing are handheld systems. japan does not want bulky hardware, the sales are too low & the cost for software development is too great.
if the two would work together, it would be only because reducing the amount of hardware options would reduce software developer costs & help keep the console market alive for much longer. but, it does not work that way. grubbing all the cash both companies can how is much more important to them than the stability of the market in another 10 years.
I'm thinking that it could work if at least because this economy is so bad that two major companies going against eachother could be detrimental.
I do think they could all go portable if it keeps up but I hear the cost to make games is so high, many portable games are getting cancelled too.

Teach them what? That DLCs will continue to persist even till the PS3? Read closely, they said some but that does not mean all DLCs may be given free. While it is a good thing nonetheless, gotta agree that this means they did waste some money on now free DLCs.

Wonderful, with this the game will become less of a niche and (hopefully) less prejudiced against it as more people actually play it in that it will reduce the proportion of Imas players who tend to act in ways that have given its players a bad rep. Or at least reduce them to a "it just happens in X location" sort of problem group

despite the fact that other than bugs being dealt with, an easy mode and some free DLCs the game is otherwise similar? It's because of people like you that the whole 360 PS3 arguement will never end and people will continue acting like dicks to each other over game consoles.

I hate that argument. A console isn't THAT expensive. So if you want to play exclusives of both platforms you should just buy both.
I wanted to play Killzone, the Tales games and some other JRPGs so I got myself a PS3 for my Bday.
But I wanted to play DoA, Halo and other FPSs (and some racing games; those just feel way better with the 360 Controller) so I got myself a 360 for Christmas.
They don't cost a fortune. A console is only worth about 3 or 4 new games. And if you buy a used one it's even cheaper.
Maybe you are one of the blessed ones with a lot of money to burn...but you are missing an important detail...you don't need ANY xbox to play this game,you need a JAPANESE one because MS put that fucking region lock.

At this point I don't give a damn anymore. I was done with Live for You! and even with the new additions, Idolmaster 2 simply didn't stand up to my expectations.
