Noboru Yamaguchi, the author of the Zero no Tsukaima light novel series and queen of tsundere Louise, has apologised for a delay in publishing volume 21 caused by his ongoing battle with cancer.
He explains the situation in an official announcement released by publisher Media Factory:
To my dear readers,
Thank you all for being so kind as to await my humble works. I would like to report on the progress of my illness.
In February I fell ill, and was diagnosed with cancer.
As the cancer’s progress was unexpectedly fast, it was considered impossible to operate to remove it. Instead, I was put on a course of anticancer drugs.
Around May, I was also diagnosed with gallstones. During abdominal surgery to remove these, it was fortunately confirmed that the cancer had shrunk.
The anticancer drug treatment was continued, and a few days ago during my admission to hospital for treatment, it was determined that it is now possible to operate.
This operation is scheduled for the beginning of August.
As for Zero no Tsukaima 21, which I am currently writing, due to the circumstances above its August release has become difficult to sustain. I hope expectant readers will forgive this unpardonable lapse.
The structure of the remaining Zero no Tsukaima volumes was already planned from volume 20 – I shall endeavour to complete the remaining 2 volumes as soon as the operation has succeeded and I have recovered my health.
I hope you will be kind enough to grant me your understanding,
Noboru Yamaguchi

F*CK YOU CANCER!!! >.>

Hope he gets better!
"Man is not made for defeat. A man can be destroyed but not defeated."

Sadly it applies for anyone.
I hope Noboru Yamaguchi gets back in good health.
There is no recession for manga! The recession, and the cancer, is an ASSHOLE!
Yamaguchi, just try and get better first. If working is straining your condition then it'd be counterproductive, not to mention your condition might worsen. Fight the big C, write some ideas when you get the chance, and come back to your public safe and cancer free. You'll make it dude, I know you will.
F*CK YOU CANSERU!! And F*CK YOU DOLPHINRUUU AND WHAAAIRUUU!!
I hope the same, get well soon Yamaguchi.
I enjoyed Zero no Tsukaima very much, especially the tsun-tsun Louise. Without Noboru-san, we would not see her or any flat-chested tusndere lolis. God bless him.
Hope he gets well soon and continue to write :D
IAWTC. I hope everything goes well and he feels a lot better.
Indeed we all wish you the very best :)
I hope he can come out of this, many people have beaten cancer, lets hope Noboru does the same.
Get Well Soon!!!!
NO!!!! WHY!?!?! WHY CAN'T IT BE ISHITHARA TO GET CANCER!?!? D:
It's always the good people who die early.
Ishihara will, sadly, live forever.
Ishihara's strategy clearly is to outlive the Manga industry. =(
what a sad world we live in
"If we win here we will win everywhere. The world is a fine place and worth the fighting for and I hate very much to leave it."
- Ernest Hemingway
of all the good people, bad ones are left behind. This world is truly hell.
Unless someone beheads him and steals his power.
In the end...there can be ONLY ONE!!
iSHIThata IS the cancer (of Japanese Culture)
hahaha minirop, well said.
Quick, bring Xzibit to Japan so he can put a cancer into that cancer.
That's an interesting question ._.
He survived old war II , what's cancer to that cockroach? He's still in politics at that age -_- Reminds me of my Calculus teacher who's 75 already. Frikkin old man! Teaching calculus in English with a Chinese accent, I would crack up with racist jokes but I just can't lol. P.S. I'm part chinese so its ok to be racist to my own kind.
people shouldnt still be in politicks at that age. if the german bundespräsident around 1930 woudltn have already been over 80, hitler wouldnt have gotten his hands on the power , most likely at least; just because the president was this old, he could just make the law that if the president dies he automatically becoems president AND kanzler , and could just wait for him to die... and thats why at that age, dotn put people in politicks!
The good die young and the bad live forever.
Oh and bad things happen to good people while good things happen to bad people.
Yamaguchi has cancer...
And Ishihara not...
Zombieaidscancer for Ishihara
Feels bad that i wear my ZombieCancer shirt right now >_>
Someone send him some Soarsop fruit. it's 10,000 times stronger than chemotherapy and no side effects.
No joke!
Ishihara's life probably isn't as stressful...
Can a humanoid cancer get cancer?
Anon 18:03. This. So much this.
Because he is an important person who works for a living and contributes to Japanese culture and helping its economy. Not further propagating the idea that Japan is full of a bunch of weird ass pedophiles.
see this doughbag is going to live for a long time, unless someone kills him of course.
And the rest of the world is just a bunch of freaky gay-tards.
I hope the operation will be successfull. And not just because I'm interested in the end of the story, but it would be just sad to see him go.

I third
My god, man looks death straight in the face and tells him that he's worried about his light novel series. What a boss.
A True Hero indeed.
you're right.
"I hope expectant readers will forgive this unpardonable lapse."
I prefer a little delay than no book at all. His life is more important (he's still the writer).
If only Kentaro Miura has half of his determination on finishing his stuff i will be more than happy...
He truly has to gain a lot of respect, to try and finish has works even though hes fighting cancer.
Poor thing. So ill and still worries about work and readers.
Get well soon, Yamaguchi-san.
Indeed, I couldn't agree more. If only there were more fine gentlemen like him.
Wishing for the best, Yamaguchi-san.
they are asking people to forgive them for something that they had no control over like getting cancer.
Look, don't worry about us retards, just get better and focus on your work when your better.
Nonono, please not another one! Fight on!
We'll wait for your return!!!!!
Apologizing for getting sick.. This man is a true novelist, Hope you get well soon Yamaguchi-sensei
Well he does need to provide a reason for the delay if he wants to keep his fans.
No, rather he's just japanese. Apologies always comes first.
