Idol Master Anime Finally Unveils Producer’s Face!?

The new and true iM@S anime by A-1 Pictures has broadcast its first episode, featuring the entire cast of idols (including the ill-fated ones dumped from the latest game), though stopping short of full Ryochin inclusion and also leaving out the controversial male idols.
More interestingly, the obscure and generally ignored protagonist and idol exploiter “P-san,” or Producer, finally comes out of the shadows and reveals his identity…

this anime still bored me to hell
I don't think anyone is watching this show 'cause of the plot. I mean who cares about the plot anyway? More then half of the new series doesn't have a plot at all. Or the plot is just cute moeblob + male char + random-genre.

to me an anime doesn't have to have a good plot or a plot to entertain me. my standards aren't that high (eg. K-ON i loved it), still i was yawning through out the whole 23 minutes... but i guess it could be cause i really dont follow/played idolm@aster.
Actually, it felt like this first episode was meant only to introduce the whole cast and bring everybody up to speed. Not knowing who someone is would be confusing in later episodes, so they had to cram everyone into this one. We should wait till more episodes come out before making any further judgments.
I'm a fan of the games, and to be honest I don't expect anyone who wasn't a pre-existing fan to be really interested with this anime. There were many references that only fans to could distinguish.

I've never played the games, but I've enjoyed the anime quite a bit through the 19 episodes I've seen so far. Reading through the character page on TVTropes beforehand did help a bit, as far as keeping everyone sorted out.
I have to agree. I was once a fan of Idolmaster, but the anime adaptations have never caught up with the charm (found in early games). Guess it was a lost cause.

On the bright side at least this anime is ABOUT something! Other shitty new 'blob anime is just recycling tired and boring tropes with slightly differently hued and coiffed 'blobs.
YuruYuri is literally about girls groping each other in a school club that -used- to be a tea ceremony club but now has no purpose but to collect girls for the otaku-insertion character to grope.
Terrible times for dude anime.
At least they were faithful in reproducing the character designs and office setting, aside from a few changes (like Makoto's and Mami's longer hair and Iori's hairstyle). A far cry from Xenoglossia.
So what if Producer-san's face looks generic? It's a hell of a lot better than some guy with a letter P for a head!
I'm definitely gonna watch this, plot or not.

Makoto, Mami and Iori's hairstyle were changed in Imas 2, not the anime.
My bad, didn't play IM@S 2.
Makoto looks nothing like she does in IM2 (or 1 for that matter). The only shot where she does look "normal" is in image 102.

- Her Iris' are too oval.
- Her bangs hang on her cheeks.
- Her face is too long or her eye position is too high.
- Her face along the chin line is a distinctly different angle.
Ok... I guess I can see the difference, but I suppose conversions from 3D to 2D can be off.
They should've kept the P for a head.

The eyes are completely different! Imo it doesn't really look too much like K-ON!, if anything, K-ON looks too much like it!
But what do you expect from this kind of show anyway? Not like it's going to have much substance to it.
