I've been thinking of starting this anime (from season 1) for quite a while.
Is this worth the watch? Is it funny? Is there a solid plot... I mean, a good storyline? Or is this just another generic anime for Type B otaku?

Awesome show; long comment short, you wont get bored, go watch season 1 right now. it takes all but 10 minutres to get the idea of what the show is about.
If the premise of the first episode doesn't hook you, then maybe it's not your kinda show, but if it does, then you're in for one wild ride! XD

I fail to see your point. The ones aired on the same day as this (iDOLM@STER for example) just had subbed versions hours ago. It's also the last of the new shows aired on a Thursday. I'm sure subs are coming within a few hours or so.
By your reasoning too, Yuru Yuri is "shittier" than Kamisama Dolls too, since the latter got subbed quicker even though the former aired earlier.
