to pantsu-kudasai: I'd have a hard time believing anyone here in the states would care. The anime she has seiyuu-ed are cult hits here at the most. By this point, July of 2011, you probably can't even find any of her stuff on the shelves at best buy or some such. Also this is the country where people claim Bruce Falconer is a genius for his electronic score for dragon ball z, not knowing that there was a grandiose classical music score already made for that show that rivals john williams in quality. So most passive anime fans don't even listen to the japanese version, they wouldn't know who she was even if it was painstakingly explained to them.

She may not be too good at handling her public image, but she's a good seiyuu and damned cute so I don't mind. She's certainly not as bad as some of the vacuous celebs over here that don't even have a discernible talent and actually do seem like very unpleasant people to be around.

I was reading Bamboo Blade and another manga I can't recall, and in the story there are some Idols, one of them always got fucked up managers, one of them try to think for the Idol girl, acting like she was his puppet. Another one try to have sex with her, and says "You need to do it with that and that guy, so we can get you new jobs". She become so fucking stressed and sad that almost kill herself.
Just hope Aya is not passing through something similar.
