Anime Expo 2011 has brought with it a wealth of the best cosplay the USA has to offer, such as it is, and 2ch is on hand to admiringly present its favourites and marvel at what it is that makes foreigners such good cosplayers…

I think it was pretty funny how it was pointed out that all whites from all countries are the same. When if you said the same about any asian you'd start a war.
It was pointed out though “Whites aren’t a single race either, are they?”
I think the thing is white people just don't care anymore.
We've just about run out of "White Guilt" I think. Other races will start blaming us about being racist again for a while before they realize in a generation or two that they became the racists at the turn of the millennium. Then maybe the hold-outs that blame white people for their problems will start recognizing the fact that whenever something goes wrong in their life, they're the only consistency, and maybe all of us can stop pretending we care who sat in the front of a bus decades ago.
When white people get blatantly racist now, it's like it's because they're sick of being blamed for it when they're not even being racist. So why does it matter? We get blamed anyway, may as well get a laugh from it. Everything will stop being racist when everyone else laughs together about one another. A certain message board has made an entire existence out of that fact, and seems to have made internet gold from it, so I figure they're on to something.

I fucking despise the fact that Nyan Cat got famous for adding a gif and Utaloid voice to daniwell-P's song. Mostly because newfags don't know where it originally came from and think it's original.

Lol amen, I guess the grass is always greener on the other side. I think nothing beats a Japanese cosplyer, whites just look nerdy, maybe there are a few that stand out, but mostly girls with emotional trauma, and lol at fat Link.

I think both sides got good cosplayer.. its just a question if you can look a bit like the char you cosplay and if you can take a stance that suits your cosplay char. (but i personaly like the japanese cosplayers the best xD <3)
true. you find bad cosplayers and good cosplayers everywhere. i'd say that this is a batch of good photos mostly taken at live events, which is what really impressed me.
a lot of awesome cosplay pictures were taken via photo shoot, which gives the cosplayer a lot of control over the resulting shot looks like. at live events this is pretty darn hard, so if you look good in a live shot, i'll give you credit.
another thing: non-asians have an easier time cosplaying.. well, non-asians. the zelda cosplays looked fantastic, for starters. and the madoka ones were pretty good. what caught me off guard was the grell though!

Ive browsed through so much cosplay, there is the same amount of bad cosplays in asia and the US/Europe. Especially if you start to get used to asian faces you recognize flaws faster.

Eh, Japanese cosplay is pretty much the same quality, the only difference is that no one posts those crappy pictures online, so we all think they're so much better.

They do have shittey japanee cosplay and some of the so called white cosplay were actually good.
I really liked the henchmen 21 and 24 cosplay.
I also like how the one board from 2ch was disagreeing that anime character typically resemble white folk and this group is saying otherwise. I personally agree with this group, but there are animes that do look more like japanese people than any white person, like Boogiepop Phantom and Genshiken.
Anime characters are anime characters race.The comparison is racist...my opinion.

I don't get why people always say only Japanese people can cosplay or in this case foreigners. As long as you can pull off the cosplay, nationality shouldn't change that fact.

that is judged based on costumes mostly. reagrding the facial cuteness, asian are mostly always better. Asian girls are youthful compared to Caucasian girls. Just saying.
