If you figure that 1,000￥ bills are just as thick as 10,000￥ bills, the figure falls to somewhere vaguely in excess of 300,000￥, which one might withdraw from his or her bank account to figure out how well it'd fit in one's wallet. Remember, 300,000￥ really isn't all that much, and only the surface bills would need to be 10,000￥.
I suppose someone could keep 3,000,000￥ in their bank account or carry it around with them, but that would be fairly poor investment practice, unless one had a relatively large upfront need, like buying a car I suppose. I know a retired individual who keeps more than that in his bank account, but when you're old you need a larger amount of fluid reserves, just in case.
Well, in Japan they don't seem to invest very much, the banks do it but not the individuals themselves.
Trust me, powerful types like to flaunt it quite a bit. I guess it doesn't differ from how it may be in the West.

there are men that carry purses & they are not neccesarily gay. Some people simply do not want to lug around a briefcase, or knapsack, . . but have a "men's purse" slung over a shoulder. With the minimum of what they consider absoultely neccessry. Fat wallet, handgun, a couple spare clips of ammo, kindle, & handheld game unit,... and their phone of course.
