“Why it is Better to be a Madoka Fan than a K-ON! Fan”

Anime otaku have been comparing the merits of being a K-ON! fan versus those of being a Madoka or Ano Hana fan, and have found K-ON! more than wanting.
Ano Hana fans:
Madoka fans:
K-ON! fans:
Such logic seems hard to argue with, although whether K-ON! fans actually have any interest in 3D females by that stage is another matter.

I don't think these pics are fair.
The Ano Hana and Madoka fans just look like ordinary people doing ordinary things. The pics of the K-ON fans are bad examples...
But the real reason why Madoka fans > K-ON fans is,
Madoka has a mix of type-A and type-B otaku.
K-ON is dominated by creepier type B otaku.
^i think it is fair enough
you said it yourself, K-ON is dominated by creepy type-B otaku (make it 99% of K-On fans)...
therefore finding normal K-ON fans pictures is as hard as finding needle in the middle of ocean...
Mixed metaphors. -50 points. Ocean, or haystack, pick one. =P
cant u just throw the haystack into the ocean?
thats more relevant to 1%
"To find a needle in big ocean" is a Chinese saying, so it's not a mixed metaphor, it's just a different metaphor.
agree 99% of K-on fans are creepy
Very true, You couldn't have stated it better. To be honest though, what about K-ON made it so big? I don't see anything special about it... All there is, is moe blobness which is in almost any anime...
The scary thing is that's the very thing that attracts people.
Since it's both cute and a slice of life, there's no significant plot that anyone needs to 'catch up' on, and anyone can pick it up at any episode that it airs.
It's like Farmville in the sense that you don't need to be a hardcore otaku/gamer to pick it up and it has that small charm to keep you going. At least that's my take on it.
The difference is that Farmville is a terrible game and K-On! is, at the very least, a decently animated and not-at-all-bad show that gets a tad too much attention.
True, I won't lie, I've watched it. The first season was decent, the second season was "milking" as to put it nicely. Yes, the characters are cute.. but I don't know about becoming a devoted fan... I can't even connect to any of the characters... Plus, I can't say that it had much of anything to keep me watching like Madoka did...
As far as comparing it to farmville.. no clue, don't play it.
I only watch K-ON!! for songs or just bored
maybe cos' of the songs/the characters are moe!
That's the scariest thing. I myself saw the first season with no particular urgency to finish it, and found it very well animated but otherwise pretty forgettable. Seeing how people get crazy over that show (or madoka for that matter) is scary because I don't understand at all.
Actually this is untrue I know a good amount of perfectly normal young japanese women that love K-ON! as much as the other people in these photos.
I think there are lots of K-On fans. Some people are clueless about this (no offence, really, there's nothing wrong with not knowing a few specific things) but K-On if very female friendly.
It's like how people think only creepy middle aged men like AKB but really, most of their fans nowadays are probably females. They just don't grab the spotlight if you know what I mean... if you don't, just look at the last picture again.
But if someone hasn't seen K-On or Madoka, and you tell that person you like them, they'd be more creeped-out by Madoka because it's a mahou shoujo show. K-On is music so, unlike this site, amongst the Japanese public it has a much better reputation.
they must die in a fire!
Yes, a show thats infested with both elitist Type A's and Creepy Type B's is soooooo much better
Japanese men..... What to do with them?
THIRD!!!!! and btw being a dedicated fan like than CAN and WILL ruin your social life. So just don't become one.
Didn't like Madoka much.
Then you must be a fan of one of the remaining two, but which one? hrmmm
I liked Meduka....
when it was called Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
.
" g a s p "
o.0 !
Everyone's still ronery, makes no difference.
It's funny because it's true! XD
I have to say though, looking at these pictures (I know I've heard about it and seen it in anime) But it really gives you proof the them fans really are for all ages. Just look at the 2nd to last pic, you can see guy maybe over 30 or 40
It's not the Creepiness I admire but the fact that these people can stick to what they like, in Japan of all places, where social stigma can rival being in jail, So Kudos! you sick...old...men..you...yey?
lol agree !
Stick to what they like... as in the latest moe craze?
Hahaha
Aside from being creepy you definitely have to admire these guys, takes individuality to the max! Your an idiot if you think any of these guys are doing this cause they want to "belong" like some shitty emo kid. THEY Do what they like and don't bother other people, sure there are a few that do, but let's face it, not a single branch or twig of society is without trouble makers
So Creepy Otakus you have my respect! *Bows*
Somehow, when I read such comments about individuality (*), I always recall ED of the 18th ep of the Inukami.
To understand what I mean, watch first this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PkZgqa4x7TE (it's only 1:30, bear with it)
then watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMCcKXzpOcU
(*) "eccentric" is a better word.
wow, you obviously don't know about Japanese jail
Stick in Japan's Jail and you have the risk being stabbed by fire hose up in your anus. Beware !!
Lol, but K-ON people are funnier! XD
i dont expect 'YOU' to say that of all people...
Kyuubee!
you look so upset....
he didn't mean it!!
there's no way he could think K-On people are funnier!
It's spelled "lonely".
Woah, there are some pretty awesome and fair comments here for a change. Pretty much said all that I have to say.
So ronery, time to get nekkid blindfolded and lick the screen. :3
Never mind how weird it is to blindfold yourself and lick someone's face. Why would you blindfold yourself to lick an image!?
Mmmm... LCD.
That's no true. See, the Madoka Fans so quiet ^,^
Madoka is twisted but attracts normal people,
K-ON! is normal but attracts twisted people.
But then again looking at this crazy world, where is the pleasure of sanity.
Stranger still....
"K-On!" was dubbed in english and airs on the Disney channel.
"Madoka" will probably become a Tarantino or Zack Snyder live action series on Starz or HBO and be more artsy than "Sin City"
Or you know.... Funimation TV channel.
They show everything including cursing and nudity and death and violence. LOVE that channel. Can't wait to see what the next season's offerings are going to be. Even the English dubbing is surprisingly good most of the time.
As for the demographics, I don't think it matters. Both AnoHana and Madoka has the same crazed male fanbase. And the types of shows K-On (slice of life), Madoka (Magical Girl) and AnoHana (Romance/Drama), I think are pretty conducive towards the female audience. I honestly do not think there's a singular type of fan or gender who likes these shwos. They're pretty well liked by a wide variety of fans.
"I honestly do not think there's a singular type of fan or gender who likes these shwos. They're pretty well liked by a wide variety of fans."
I would normally agree, but do you really think grown men who watch magical girl animes (not madoka) watch it for the story and the magic?
I don't think so.
Speaking of Madoka, something's going on in the north
http://madokamagicausa.com/
early contract huh...
and in English even...
Hope the ENG dub won't be bad
Stop kidding yourself. More like... "it Will be a miracle if the ENG dub isn't bad"
Quick! Somebody make a contract with Kyuube and wish for a good dub!
K-On on disney channel?
mind -> blown
They're ALL creepy...
It's easier than all of this.
K-On story = Let's make a music band
Madoka story = Let's save the world
Save the world >>>>>> Play in a band
Easy, isn't it?
LOLOLOL save the world sounds cheesy, but so does make a music band. So what have we learned here today.
Wow, you just make Madoka alot more awesome now. Thanks >.>
watch this
K-On has 80 songs
Madoka has 2
80>>>>>>>>>>>>>>2
right?
It's useless.
Why even bother comparing unrelated things when it clearly depends on whether the viewer likes story or comedy.
When's the last time you complained about the story of a stand-up comedian's performance.
