To me its just a gothic cosplay with beautiful scenery. Miku comes in after that.
The problem with Miku Cosplays is, that you can almost do everything, since it is fanbased. If you cosplay the original Miku though, then there are specifications.
The scenes are too static. The photographer should have thought out the composition and lighting better.
Your right about the dress, it doesn't compliment her at all.

I thought cosplay was supposed to be more about the outfit, but they took a lot of panned out shots that show off all the diffrent locations this person is in. Also, the girl does not seem to fit the dress, something about her draws your attention on the close up shots, probably the nose...
