Gust’s decision to magically lolificate Rorona for Atelier Meruru so they would be spared the prospect of having her as an old hag in her thirties is proving divisive, with “big Rorona” seemingly garnering much more support than “Lolina” despite the noted lolicon proclivities of series fans…

Er, I also think they should reach a mutual agreement with Rorona's looks and age, since I do love her teenage look over her other 2 versions~
But, maybe they could just go with making the other 2 looks DLC or something...Or even better, make it a DLC story of why she looks like that~

Hmmm....The older version would be something good too look at. The loli version would be understandable if she goofed on reciped to turn herself into that form.
That's probably how it's done. I don't mind that, as it's a fun, goofy idea and considering she's not even the main character (I guess?) it's not that big a deal. But I really do hope adult Rorona makes herself present.
I was always under the assumption that Japanese thinking 30 is old was sort of a running gag of sorts. I still assume that, but it's hard based on my only real Japanese news being this highly biased, ridiculous site.
An optional side-quest to 'fix' her up?
I'd take that. That's the best of all worlds. An option for those who like her as an adorable character, and then of course for completionists and people who want to do the side quests, you can bring her back to her normal age. And either way has fun dialogue. That's the key in every case anyway. Options and fun. ...and good writing... let's not leave that out.
And exclusive in the American/European release comes: Machona, the muscular macho version of Rorona!

I have no problem with “big Rorona”, and I agree the “Lolina” version is too young, if they felt the need to change her age they should've gone back to the 14-year-old.

This is scary. How most otaku would go for dangerous lolis and completely deny women in their 30s.
Names that try to appear foreign in Japanese anime&games always bug me to no end. Why can't they go with something simple like 'Smith' or 'Williams', always inventing weird names that don't sound like they're particularly from anywhere.
Pokémon Trainer Red would like to have a "word" with you about his Japanese name being hard. And I don't see the problem either. The names may be weird but at least they're trying to be creative

I like the older version. The young one looks too much like Holly Hobbie.
She looks so lovely as an adult, I hope it's not too late for them to change their decision... Plus if she was an adult I'd be able to cosplay as her lol.
The Elixir of Eternal Lolihood, Rorona's Magnum Opus
As someone who's not a fan of the series or know much about it, I was tentatively supportive of the change since it meant there wouldn't be an adult woman acting like a child (I've seen footage of the game on Unskippable, that would just be embarassing). After this, though, why not just lock her at the age she's been rather than set her as younger. She looks great at the age she was, I don't know why they didn't do that instead of pandering to lolicons, who are not the majority of people despite what they like to say.

I'm all for loli and everything, but... Rorona is a bit too young. A 11 or 12 Rorona would make the best loli, and would be at ideal appeal body-wise.

I know it would be cost prohibitive but it would be nice if they could make 2 separate games. One with adult Rorona and the other Loli. Oh well, I can dream, can't I?

Not two separate games. They have the models, and I'd be surprised if Kishida Mel didn't already have a version of her older already. The only issue is more voice acting, with the voice actress speaking an adult voice and a child voice, and perhaps some more writing to play with the variations. It'd be a very fun side-quest series, and of course they can play with the fact that she's obviously an older woman in a child's body. You have to be a retard to fail at managing at least a couple interesting scenes out of that. Especially with all the side characters from the first one, not to mention the second one which isn't even here yet.
I know of two characters that would troll her to no end in this form and it would be hilarious. The minstrel and the knight would be like opposites in how they handled it ^^
We can at best hope that Meruru can unlock some quest to turn Rorona back normal. :(
