Bones fans asked to rank the best of the studio’s titles seem to demonstrate the supremacy of the loli harem over all other forms of entertainment (or at least those not involving moeblobs or mahou shoujo abuse, neither of which are a studio speciality).
1. Darker Than Black
2. Star Driver
3. Eureka Seven
4. Fullmetal Alchemist
5. Heroman
6. Xam’d: Lost Memories
7. Ouran High School Host Club
8. Cowboy Bebop – Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door
9. Soul Eater
10. Sword of the Stranger
Surprisingly, ‘blob favourite Gosick was edged out of the arbitrarily crucial top 10.

KIRABOSHI~!
KIRABOSHI~!
キラ☆星!
(ノゝ∀・)~キラ☆
Wolf's Rain wasn't all that bad either.
Darker than Black was epic, no argument here.
I always loved Yin in that series.
epic indeed!!
Don't forget:
RahXephon
Wolf's Rain
Kurau Phantom Memory
All really great series.
Thank you for stealing my post.
E7 above all!
Fucking agreed. DTB and SD above E7? What the heck have these people been eating from the sewers?
I...CAN...FLY!
HIGHER THAN THE SUN!
well I had only watched one bones anime which is soul eater
wtf? gay driver and heroman?
who made this list?
everything else looks fine to me, even though I liked xamd mor than E7.
Star Driver is #2?! Hellz yes!!
Why the hell Star Driver is so high? It was terrible. Darker than black was insanely awesome, ok i agree but taking DtB2 into account it should fall to the second position. First one of course FullMetal Alchemist Brotherhood
Star Driver ain't that bad, that's just your personal opinion.
Obviously with how many people agree on how it was so bad and why it was ranked so high, it's probably not just "personal opinion".
it ranked high because many people think it was good. People just need to adjust to the weird name in the show, like bishonen or kiraboshi, and such to appreciate it!!
I'd have to agree... stopped watching Star Driver after episode 2...
Better be Brotherhood they mean and not that shitty version they made first.
Both are equally awesome. Just because one doesn't go word by word on the manga doesn't make its shitty.
Funny how people are calling the first FMA shitty, yet I bet those same people were screaming how great it was when it first aired, long before Brotherhood was even an idea.
DtB should be a bit lower. The first season was great but the second was a jumbled mess of questions with no answers. The way to get those answers is you have to watch the OVAs that came out after-the-fact. Fact is I shouldn't have to watch OVAs to answer questions that should've been answered at the beginning of the second season. Suou wasn't that great of a character either, probably because they didn't spend too awful long developing the new characters like they did with Hei and his group in the first season.
FMA/FMA:B should be together at spot 2. Sword of the Stranger definitely deserves the #1 spot.
I know for sure I wasn't one of those people, since I said from the start, it sucks ass.
Sword of the Stranger was definitely one of the best films i'd seen in a while, but i would say DtB beat it in sheer content.
1. Though some people may like being spoon-fed all the information, others may like to use their cranial matter every so often. An anime series doesn't have to reach a profound conclusion every time, just like how movies might leave room for a sequel or prequel.
2. They killed off most of the rest of whatever supporting characters they had in s1, and the "answers" you speak of were presented quite nicely at the end of the season. For example, i watched the ovas after s2 and found i pretty much figured out everything already anyways.
3. Megane-Kirihara is like the best thing to happen to Bones since its inception.
Yes people will complain about FMA not being true to the manga but that was made up for by the fact that plans were set in motion someday to have all Female Officers wearing TINY MINI SKIRTS!!!!!
"Ahh! Colonel Mustang I'll follow you to the ends of the Earth!"
Thank you.
You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar!
I don't understand why people become so fanatical that the one has to be worse than the other...
Fixed:
1. Sword of the Stranger
2. Darker Than Black
3. Fullmetal Alchemist
4. Soul Eater
5. Cowboy Bebop – Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door
6. Eureka Seven
7. Xam’d: Lost Memories
8. Star Driver
9. Ouran High School Host Club
10. Heroman
agree... maybe swap Eureka for Xam'd
With reasons (to prove I wasn't just trollin'):
1. Sword of the Stranger
- Epic original movie
- Epic musical score
- It's got it all; characters and fights, drama and action, premise and plot, good pacing.
- It's like the animated version of a great Hollywood action/drama film. With a Japanese influence though.
- Very underrated
2. Darker Than Black
- First season was awesome.
- Original premise, cool powers
- Second season was also awesome but felt like they overloaded the loli factor just for the creepy DVD-buying otaku pedos. At least it was done with taste and they left out the moe.
3. Fullmetal Alchemist
- Brotherhood was great but that was to be expected when following the original storyline (manga) closely.
- Great job on animation, ranked lower only because it's not an original Bones work like the above two. (Not that it's a bad thing by any means, I just think the original storylines should get extra credit for being entirely Bones works as opposed to just animation.)
4. Soul Eater
- Nice and artistic
- Great characters, art direction, action scenes
- Manga is ongoing though
5. Cowboy Bebop – Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door
- Great, but not as great as the series (IMO)
6. Eureka Seven
- Lots of awesome ideas, too bad the plot gets more fucked the more you watch
- Weak ending
7. Xam’d: Lost Memories
- It was okay
- Retarded plot though
- I don't remember much from it, but something tells me it can't have been worse than Star Driver
8. Star Driver
- All flair and no depth
- Felt as if they were coming up with the story as they went along. No direction from week to week
- Pretty dumb overall even though it had nice animation
- Fuck CLAMP and their anorexic character designs
(And fuck Code Geass too because of this... as well as the retarded plot devices but mostly the CLAMP stickmen)
9. Ouran High School Host Club
- Yeah... just not as great as the rest
10. Heroman
- Ugh... Brainfart of an attempt to emulate American comic book hero? "Heroman"? Really? Fuck, for real? Heroman. How about Toyman? Or Fatroboman.
- Magical robots are Japanese domain, not American at all.
Why the f*ck isn't the goodness of Scrapped Princess up there?
Then again, it's like 5 YEARS old.
I'm shedding my tears with you.
The Cowboy Bebop movie on there, so your argument is rather invalid.
now i lost it
I know I can kill
The Truth exists just beyond the Gate!
(did ABS actually do that song with DtB in mind, or did it just end up that way?
The full version goes:
A night sky full of cries
Hearts filled with lies
The contract - is it worth the price?
A soul pledged to the darkness
Now I've lost it, I know I can kill
the truth is just beyond the Gate
So probably yes. At least this part.
I dont get the bones tag, but f*ck the pic is hot.
Bones is the name of the studio who did these series of Masterpiece and Perfect Packages.
lols i didnt know that there's such a weird list rankings of bones? LOLS i dun even take notice of the bones*
I was glad I endured Star Driver just for the last episode, which was quite awsome.
notice the word "endure."
It was really bright, with all that radiance and dazzles....
Not as bright as Seiko No Qwasar II's lightshow.
i endured it at first just for Sakana-chan's song...
i only endured it until the 1st 10 mins of the 1st ep -_-
I endured it until the 1st 10 mins of the 2nd ep. when the small fox appeared.
wow you're pretty tough I only lasted 3 mins... and watched it cause I clicked on the wrong torrent and didn't noticed...
All is well. Eureka Seven is high on the list.
Everyone hating on Star Driver makes me want to see it even more.
me too, except i already watched the first episode, and that killed it for me, and i think thats the same for at least another 60% of viewers
It can't be worse than Heroman. Ugh. BONES needs to get busy so those travesties will drop off this list
Heroman at least looked beautiful and had a few good episodes. Not too bad, if you consider it marketing to the kiddies.
