Sunrise has announced the latest Gundam anime as “Kidou Senshi Gundam AGE,” and Gundam otaku of both sexes are aghast at the fact that there will likely be no more bishonen or bishoujo to onanise over…
The anime is set to air in October, and as can be seen from the promotional material released so far, appears to be aimed at younger viewers (in fact the series is being handled by Level 5 boss Akihiro Hino, best known for Inazuma Eleven) :

Aside from the admittedly less impressive visual this just might go all the way epic if if they add jaw dropping animations. Remember that character designs can be misleading(this is what I found out the hard way with MADOKA, all that's left in my room is a shrine but I'm not that crazy X3)

Well the captain or admiral look serious enough. I hope they get more screen time to offset the kiddiness. Not that I've ever followed gundam series other than wings.
That's what I thought when I saw the art style for Gurenn Laggan, which now is one of the 6 anime I've watched more than once.
G Gundam was created by the guy who did Giant Robo. It was supposed to be like that. And aside from the art styling and the ridiculous mecha fighting, V Gundam was far worse.
Suck it ASStard, the choreography of Mecha combat never reached that level of perfection again. Even with all them pretty animations from later generations. Uso piloted his Gundam so god damned well they had to insert emo angst to slow him down, Gundam Seed had emo angst but outside of a pilot juicing up. Nobody piloted their mechs as well. Uso was and still is the only Pilot who used Every part of his suit for victory. The ONLY ONE.
One thing I have to say is that Inazuma Eleven is freaking amazing. It delivered a ton of drama, great characters and even some surprising depth in the story and plot twists. Also, tons and tons of amazing action.
And who knows? Fujoshi already twisted many Inazuma characters into bishounen. Maybe they will do that too.
I have no qualms about the creators of the show this time. Just that their character design could have afford to look more... attractive.

Gundam has ALWAYS been a marketing whore. The series was always built around selling GunPla model kits. Yes even UC. It baffles me me how people keep forgetting this.

There's Fujoshi for Inzauma Eleven but I think even this is too kiddy for them... The protagonists get younger and younger each series. Soon we'll have toddlers piloting the gundams.
How am I supposed to take the show seriously when there are 10 year olds piloting the mechs?
I don't know about you, but I can probably still fap to this. Plus if the series is fun, it will be better than the fujoshi pandering crap we've had the last few years. Do wish that somewhere someone would discover a hidden Tomino script. That would be cool.
Simon and Kamina from TTGL didn't look that appealing. But they did things that are epic. I can't judge now until I watch this.
Not all of them can be great.
Let's just hope that the kits end up looking good.
