Police are looking for a man who asked a schoolgirl whether there was a McDonald’s nearby.
Osaka police have issued a warning to the public after a man in a car drove by a high school girl cycling to school, asking her “Is there a McD around?” to which she responded “I don’t know.” The suspect then drove off.
The perpetrator is described as in his fifties and was driving alone in a small light green car. It appears the nearest McDonald’s was some 500m away.

This is not the first time Osaka's finest have made the news here for being stupid.

Japanese police are shitty and their methods are really shady. And you especially shouldn't expect justice if you're a foreigner. Often they just get uncomfortable that they might have to deal with you and speak your language that they don't want to handle your case. Other times they will almost always side with Japanese people no matter how innocent you are. I've seen this so many times it isn't funny.
Japanese law enforcement is seriously lacking training that would make things a lot more efficient over there. Even the honest cops just aren't efficient enough to get everything done.
If your bike is stolen in Japan the police will get it back. Bicycles belonging to schoolgirls will typically be returned without the seats.
