You know, this actually has a relatively good story. People give it far to little credit because of the loli service.

I also have read the manga it's based on; even thought there are a lot of "loli" jokes, it's a pretty good story and at times it's laugh-out-loud funny, and other times it's quite cute and pulls at your heart stings. The "loli" parts are due to Lotte and Asuha being only 10 years old, and it's just harmless and being funny, especially when Lotte looks like she's having a hard time dealing with Asuha and Naoya (her father), especially when Lotte gets embarrassed easily :)
They want to market to Otaku who like that sort of thing but your right it has a good storyline and I like it.
