Much of this BS is dervived from the huge in-flux of Holmes movies from 1940 to 1945, there was 12 movies in that little period, dumbass. I don't give a shit about the junk 60 years prior. Most of anything ever written about Holmes could be actually viewed in this period. There was a lot of made up shit then as well - a perfect example of what this anime is doing.
This is done by J.C. staff. So it's not surprising if the plot has gone to hell.
To be fair, they're pretty much staying true to the LN as far as plot goes.

To people just getting into anime or just watching something like Aria the Scarlet Ammo it might be the best that there is in terms of tsundere crap because this is the first show of its type they have ever seen and may claim Toradora, Zero no Tsukaima/The Familiar of Zero and Shakugan no Shana are weak copies.
To veteran anime fans this is boring shit we've seen many times.
I've never fully watched any of the 4 shows, only have I downloaded fanservice eps of Zero dub/Season3 and Toradora, gave Aria one chance and it blew it.

indeed there is such a thing as a veteran fan, and most of us veterans are disappointed as ever as to how generic anime has gotten.
if you had started to watch anime decades ago you too would be frustrated as to how character designs, plotlines, personalities, various genres, etc have all been done to death.
and this is nothing to say of the actual fanservice, which is usually the last saving grace an anime show can have. to add insult to injury, nowadays its quality and quantity have gone completely down the crapper.

certainly it´s not that bad but is just a summary of the light novel and so much things are changed.
for those interested in the novel baka-tsuki is making the translation they are up to volume 6, working on 7 and the episode 9 of the anime is the begining of volume3 so i highly recommend the novel.
