Anime fans have voted to determine the best Shaft anime, with the top spot a predictable battle between recent blockbusters Madoka and Bakemonogatari.
The ranking, based on votes from over 2,000 Shaft fans and with votes for multiple seasons merged:

10. Negima!?
Although the placement of Madoka and Bakemonogatari was hardly in doubt, despairing fans will be heartened to see just how closely Zetsubou-sensei trailed them – 362 votes to Bakemonogatari’s 370 and Madoka’s 383, with ef some distance behind with 261.

Well it's not just me after all who thinks that Zetsubou Sensei is awesome title. But I would argue on 1st place, it should be Bakemonogatari. Owns Madoka in every aspect. No offence
I kinda agree. As great as Madoka was, I can't help but feel that Bakemonogatari was slightly better in most aspects and much more sophisticated in general. But to be fair, you can't really compare those two shows. I guess it comes down to personal taste. There just happened to be 13 voters to whom Madoka appealed more.

Got to agree with this list. Glad that Madoka Magica is on the top again. PaniPoni Dash! was the first Shaft anime that I watched and enjoyed.

ef had a lasting impact on me out of all of these. That said, they're all enjoyable in their own ways except for maybe Bakemonogatari when they relied too much on the voice acting and not enough on the animating part.
Which means things tend to improve with time.

No its just because Madoka is that good. Maybe that it still gets some hype-advantage but I won't be suprised if it stay in the top 2 for a (long) while.
After all, if you dont like something it doesn't mean some else don't like it either.

PaniPoni Dash! was one of the first animes I ever watched, and it still is one of my favorite animes of all time.
Madoka is in first just because of the lingering hype. Otherwise. I believe Bakemonogatari would have topped easily. Probably even Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.

Now I'm not going to say anything against Bakemonogatari or Zetsubou because they are good. But I think Madoka has as much staying power than the other two.
Madoka deserves the top spot on the worst ending ever category, it being shallow and absurd. Otherwise the animation was beautiful.
