K-On? Really Japan? Really?
They really liked Elfen Lied in Japan, huh.
Am I the only one who notices that some of these DID get a second season, or WERE the second season?
I am confused.
You're not. Full Metal Panic is on the list - despite that it got -three- seasons so far, with the possibility of more, as there are more light novels. This just says that these people don't fucking pay attention.
Probably listed by popularity, hence why K-on and Index are there despite the number of existing episodes. Mariaholic is ongoing, even.
Some of them tied off their stories already.
A more accurate description would be "anime you want to see more of".
To which I'd love to see more Negima, Full metal panic, and Infinite Stratos (and this time toss in some plot!).
Well, agreed with Negima, since it's really getting interesting in the manga; FMP 2nd Raid got such an open-ended feel in the last episode, it definitely need another season; Infinite Stratos feels like a prologue, so it has to have another season with "actual plot".
I would add myself ("another season"):
Ah My Goddess;
Burst Angel/Bakuretsu Tenshi;
Claymore;
Needless;
Fruits Basket.
or maybe making Full Metal Panic Fumoffu 2, or an OVA.. where there's no storyline, just funny unrelated episode
i definitely going to watch that if its ever released
Yes, Shakugan No Shana is also getting a sequel and already has a second season.
To Aru Majutsu better get a third season because there is still alot of story to tell and work from.
The anime included were all noted as being the most recent or last season, although as there is no consistent naming amongst anime continuations this is not apparent from their titles alone.
I just noted the "all anime included are indicated as the most recent season".
I gotcha' now.
Really strange list. At least half of them could potentially have OVAs or a full second season depending on whether the original novel/manga material has enough content for a sequel.
And many of them could get one.
Really nice to hear Umisho, Stellvia and Sora no Manimani get mentioned though..
Not only that, some of these already had a second season:
- Full Metal Panic!: The Second Raid
- Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
- Shakugan no Shana Second
- Arakawa Under the Bridge*2
- The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Some had a sequel in other formats like OVAs or movies:
- Macross F Itsuwari no Utahime
- Macross F Sayonara no Tsubasa
- Lucky Star
And some even ARE SECOND SEASONS:
- To Aru Majutsu no Index II
- Tsubasa Chronicle 2
- K-ON!!
- Spice & Wolf II
- Junjou Romantica 2
Or even a THIRD SEASON:
- Sengoku Basara 3
This doesn't make sense at all.
If you read the introductory paragraph you might care to note it says "no sequel or second season."
As this is apparently too much trouble I have changed the title slightly to accommodate this requirement...
Put Claymore on the list because it didn't get a no sequel or second season.Arakawa Under The Bridge did have a sequel.
Tell me genius how is claymore going to shoot a second series, when they had such a profound conclusion?
Some series was never intended to have a continuation. No matter how bad the fans would want it to be.
The claymore conclusion was made up (and very bad). It stopped following the manga entirely for the last three episodes where they had a "profound conclusion" rather than stick with the manga.
Currently, the manga is being released in a monthly format with about 30 pages being done a month. With the way the story is going, it *might* be done in a year or two. Only when it is finished is there a reason for a new Claymore season.
I think they can easily pick up where the anime started to diverge with a quick "previously..." and just go on from there.
Or they could have Claire wake up sweating, and say "That was a weird dream" (i.e. like Dallas), lol.
Edit: here's a good reference to see where the anime diverged from the manga: http://www.usaanime.us/Claymore/Claymore-MangaComp.htm
then they better figure out how to make the last arc in the first series disappear to allow a second season. I don't suppose that they're also going to distribute a little bottle of acid for all the fans to drop and try to forget the last ending?
Yeah. I think some of those shows, people just rabidly want more seasons like Artefact is alluding.
I'm still in utter shock something like Souten Kourou (which I thought was pretty good) could actually get enough of a following to get a mention.
Hell, FMP even had the Fumoffu season, so that's three for that one.
Yeah and I don't see why do they think that there will be no 3rd season for Index. It's way too popular to just adandon.
Yeah and I don't see why do they think that there will be no 3rd season for Index. It's way too popular to just abandon.
And Shana will have season 3
Why Stellvia? The threat was repelled. No need to continue is the way I see it.
I still want to see the final tournament of Slam Dunk.
They were supposed to ha another season of Stellvia but then it disappeared.
PS. Why are so many of the shows on this list just recently ended? This list is meant for shows that have gone a long time without sequels.
I want to see more seasons of many of those titles. If you like a anime title, it is natural you want to see more. 10 seasons more, if it still feels interesting!
Ore no Imouto will get a second season, or at least a spin off based on the Kuroneko manga.
Oh God, I can't wait. I mean that for both, or either... Win-Win either way.
I am hoping to see K-ON!!! or at least a season based on the continuation of the manga. Still waiting for Lucky Star Season 2.
If you mean when they're in College, then yes. As for a season 2 for Lucky Star... Oh God, you and me both.
As much as we all desire a second season of Lucky Star, we won't be getting one. Their lives won't be as care-free anymore. Plus, there was an OVA. A great, heartwarming satisfying OVA. Let's just be happy with there even was one :')
I wouldn't go so far as to call the OVA great, frankly speaking. I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't say that it did the series justice or anything.
If you're going to make a second series of Lucky Star, at least pair up Konata and Kagami during it.
Think of the ratings and the heated debating.
Very hot debates, infact. Quite frankly. Steaming hot debation.
Durarara should have 2nd season.
I would like to see dark Mikado and Aoba animated!
k-on is going to get a movie on december 2011 and tha manga its already finished.
um To Aru Majutsu no Index II is the 2nd season
Infinite Stratos just finished
Spice & Wolf II was also the 2nd season
and Full Metal Panic did get a second season, its called FMP second raid...
and there are a few more there that are 2nd or even 3rd seasons....
The problem is that The Second Raid only covers until volume 5 of the novels. FMP continued in novel form and has ALOT of character and storyline development in the later novels.
Some Highlights:
6. Haruhi
I see what you did there.
18. Baccano
The storyline has nowhere further to go, CAROL.
Haruhi should have been #8
No Shakugan no Shana....I am disappoint.
Shakugan no Shana Second finished in '08.
No Shakugan no Shana was overhyped anyway.
SnS already had a second season lol...
besides, judging by the end of SnS S OVA4 and the countless numbers of articles, its gonna get a third season, so i dont see why youre disappointed.
3rd Season of Shana is officialy in production since ending of SnS S 4th OVA. It's not yet confirmed but 95% sure that it will air this October
Madoka has just finished, when the hell was it supposed to get a second season?
And Maria Holic Alive is still freaking airing- not to mention that it itself is a second season. -.-'
The Madoka second season that's being rumored is supposed to be a slice-of-life midquel.
Gen Urobochi is the reason why Madoka is successful.
Actually Madoka is slice of life anime which is called "Urubochi's Day", as Urubochi Gen is the Kyuube himself.
I really have no idea why Maria Holic Alive is there. As you said, it's still airing...infact, it only started a few weeks ago.
The list is full of fail..how quickly do they expect a sequal to be announced after the last season finished? Index and Madoka for example only recently finished. Give it some time and I'm sure some of them will get new seasons
i think the same and for madoka i don´t think there´r going to be a seacond season maybe they could make those spinoff manga
wait WHAT? angel beats gets a 2nd season 0o and ore no imouto no 2nd season? they don't want make profit, huh?
