Anime fans quizzed on what they consider to be the most “godly” anime of the first decade of the 21st century provide a list sure to provide something for everyone, even those of the Type A persuasion.

Any list with Angel Beats! at number one - Let alone, a list covering a fucking decade - is pretty bad.
At absolute best, Angel Beats was a missed opportunity, a 24+ episode story sliced up, mutilated, and delivered in 12 episodes.
It's otaku. We all know they have bad taste.
Angel beats was Jun Maeda's attempt at milking a dry cow that was long out of milk....oh and he did it with several other people while hurrying...
Angel Beats! certainly is the best of that list. I'd personally have put it 22nd, but the 21 above it aren't even on this list, so...
Angel Beat is shit. It started out nice, but went trainwreck after episode 3 and crashed real hard by the end of the series.
stfu, Angel Beats was awesome. Sure it could be better, still it was far better than many other anime published so far.

If so that show just blew alway every goddly aspect of it with tis stupid plot devices near the end.

Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's was absolutely amazing, despite having one of the stupidest plots ever.
I feel that FLCL deserved to be on the list personally. It may have started in 2000 but ended in 2001.

I disagree...Clannad should be number 1, even though Angel Beats is also from Key, so it's OK - I guess.
Those BL-lovers have a huge influence in American top-selling charts. So, I have hunch that Hetalia or Black Butler would somehow find their way into the top 10.

I think Japanese fans have very short memories. The top stuff is all fairly new, and doesn't really start getting into pre-2008 stuff until lower down the list. But yeah, no Last Exile is a travesty. That's one of my top series of all time, which is largely populated by shows from the 90's. But on the other hand Kamichu! is on the list, and I've never actually met another American who has seen that show even though it's basically a series-long Miyazaki movie. I cosplayed Yurie once (she is basically my anime clone, except I am not a middle schooler) and everyone just thought I was cosplaying as "generic anime schoolgirl." Sigh.

It's the first anime that made me think anime could seriously be a form of art. Beautiful anime.

FLCL was crap.
I watched both Texnolyze and Ergo Proxy and they were okay. (yes, don't bash me.) Their plot, however, I found to be strikingly similar...
FLCL was 2000-2001, so I guess it's barely too early to qualify for the 2001-2010 list...

I confused the order of Ergo Proxy and Texnolyze by the order that I watched them...
FLCL was 1990's
FLCL original run was April 26, 2000 – March 16, 2001 according to Wikipedia.
Ergo Proxy was utterly terrible - totally fell apart after just a few eps. Animation quality, story direction... terrible. Texnolyze was unbearably boring until just a few eps before the end - it felt like a superhuman feat to have finished it.
Type-B otaku. That can only explain why you didn't like EP.

Nodame the anime was blown away by nodame the drama. Ueno Juri was magic. But like all things they milked it too long and the story got worse and worse after the original series. Ending was awful.

Everyone has different tastes, but I agree with the other anon, I really like zegapain too, It had that matrix feel to it, the mechas needed an upgrade though on looks, but I don't prioritize that aspect in stories.
