Detailed architectural plans of the various houses featured in K-ON! are nothing new, but for one fan only a meticulous 1:100 model of the Akiyama residence would do.
It remains to be seen whether someone will actually take this to its logical extreme and build one of these houses – it does not seem outside the realm of possibility considering what else otaku will buy on the basis of blind devotion.
It may not be so extreme to build it, rather perhaps it is already built.
The probability that a house that has the identical external dimensions, already in existance some where in Japan is very high. There are a lot of custom built private residences in real life, and the artists that rendered it in the anime probably saw it some where and liked it so much that he/she put it in that scene.
On another note, the otaku that made this model only forgot one thing – the family car that was parked in the driveway.
^_^
ps
actually, come to think of it, I’ve seen a similar house like it in Hawaii, specifically in the Hawaii Kai neighborhood in East Oahu. There are lots of Japanese tourists that visit Hawaii its possible that the artist that portrayed it may have stayed in that very house when visiting Hawaii.
Next do Yui’s house with the little shrine next to it. Would buy!
Impressive. How’s the inside?
Model railroaders do this sort of thing all the time. He has done very, very nice job on it though.
My 1/150 Japanese railroad is going to have a bunch of various anime locations on it…
Blood and sweat must have been poured into that thing.
