Some guys don't realize how some girls can actually enjoy anime/manga and videogames and all that stuff. Even macho sports like Hockey, Football, etc.

It isn't just about anime and games. Some people have additional hobbies which stem from anime and games. I play Yu-Gi-Oh! for example, and that is a completely different thing for a girl to accept than anime or manga but I still wouldn't give up playing to get married.
When a girl is in love with you and really want to share interest with you, she will make an effort to try and love what you love.
Exemple, my friend's girlfriend wasn't into manga, anime and DnD. But now, she likes all of that. She even went to see me to lent her some of my anime collection. She bought a lot of manga and she play damn good character at DnD.
Bottom, a girl who truly love you will try to accept and love your hobbies. If she can't, she will accept them and leave you alone and make compromise about the time spent together. But don't forget this advice work for man too. You need to accept and try to love her interest. Or you're being selfish like all those bitches,
The reason some "some" guys are into 2d is because there aren't a lot of "intelligent" good looking females available.

Japanese guys don't want intelligent wives. Their opinion is the more intelligent they are, the more opinionated and nagging they are. My Japanese teacher (native Jap) in college said 98% of women that enroll in Tokyo University end up never getting married mostly because if this intellect taboo on the Jap male side.
Personally if I have a family I would want my wife at least somewhat intelligent so if something happens to me, she would still be able to raise kids okay etc.

I'm so terrible at DnD I either end up derailing the entire game because of a mistake or just don't say anything at all because I have no idea what's going on, and even just watching first-person games makes me nauseous. I really tried to get into these things for my boyfriend, but when he tries to share them with me he just ends up getting frustrated because of how hopelessly incompetent I am at them. I wish he could at least appreciate that I try, though... ;_;

It is extreme...she'd have to have some kind of strong dislike for anime or simply be selfish and controlling. If you truly love her, and she you...then you guys could've made a compromise such as watch a bit less anime. I don't know how much anime you watch, but if I had a boyfriend who was watching an anime(that I didn't feel like watching with him) that would be a cue for some nice alone time. She could hang out with someone else or have her own fun while you enjoy yourself...I don't get it..
