That aside, I expect Ano Hana and Hanasaku Iroha to make the Best-of-Season list.
Well, Hanasuka Iroha placed #11 on this list, while Ano Hana placed #16. No wonder anime is dying.
They made Madoka, they can die now.
#11 and #16 are pretty low for this kind of list, which of course still rank those two as the non/less disappointing shows of the season.. (unless they include other oblivious anime).
That practically puts Ano Hana in the top 5...

Mainly because everything has been terrible for the last 2 seasons. I don't even really care to try and watch most of these.

Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko is awesome, and they still prefer some shit like Softenni. It's unbelievable.
Nichijou isn't that bad too (at very least compared to most of this list), but it's true that eps 3 and 4 weren't really epic.
Anyway, glad to not see Ano Hana here, I love this one.

Hanasuka Iroha is certainly the best so far for me, and dat Anaru probably second.

I love the butthurt over Nichijou. It's an amazing adaptation of a pretty fun 4koma. Nothing to get so upset over.

I watched all in the list but just to past time not that much of an excitement.
I think Hanasaku Iroha is the best so far, I don't see why it is so high on a bad list.

Nichijou is Azumanga Daioh on shrooms. How can anyone NOT love that? Especially considering that slice-of-life crap is popular since the advent of K-ON.

I think Nichijou is funny but I didn't read initial expectations or the story itself so I technically could not rate it since I had no expectations for it to live up to.

Nichijou (maybe KyoAni doesn't have as much to worry about after all), Steins;Gate, and Denpa specifically have been making pretty good impressions everywhere but this list.
and Dog Days and A Channel have their fanbases already.
one does suspect whoever compiled this list may have exercised some selection bias, or the site running the poll (which i note isn't exactly pulling huge vote numbers, suggesting this isn't exactly a heavily populated site or specific poll) inherently has a skewed population, in order to generate such a contrarian list.
Yes, sample size, sample selection, and who creates and organizes the poll are all important aspects to consider when weighing polls.
I thought Nichijou was alright, if a little unfocused at times. and despite the massive censorship and short run times, i really like 30-sai. It'll probably be better once it comes to DVD.
Haters votes more than supporters of shows. That's why some "neutral" characters always wins popularity polls.

I don't see why Dog Days or Steins;Gate are on that list. Granted Dog Days is cute its still better than most animes as at least the lead male role is competent, where as most seem to be plague with failures for lead male roles...

I like Steins Gate, A Channel, Denpa Onna, and Hidan no Aria...granted they aren't the best, but I do enjoy them :)

A Channel should not be on the list either. Steins;Gate is indeed a good anime.
In all honesty even after it gained Charlotte I wasn't all that impressed with IS. It did the same thing as most other similar animes... be a harem anime for 2/3 of the anime and then try to smash a plot in, in the last 3 episodes. At least Kazuya in Freezing knew the girl he wanted to be with from the get go...
Reason why Steins;Gate is a disappointment to some:

You're forgetting that it's a list of disappointment and not necessarily "bad" or "worst of season". Steins;Gate was really hyped up and it probably didn't live up to the expectations of some people.
Dog Days is weird to me cuz' I heard it was nothing special but at the same time I'm in love with the character designs. Perhaps with designs like that it demands to be a better show in the eyes of others?
Again, my point is the list is subjective and it is really early in the season. Remember Infinite Stratos and how much of a 180 it was to get Charlotte.
30-sai no Hoken Taiiku should be no. 1. It's a total disappointment as hell.

Ya I think some of those hit lower on the list because the initial expectation was so low to start with. I mean come on Hen Zemi, what did people really expect.
I agree with others here Steins;Gate is so high because of the hype and insanely slow start, seriously why did it take 3ep to show the microwave was the time machine. I guess I was expecting a faster pace to get to the real part of the story which so far seems they will end up cramming into the last 3 episodes.

For Dog Days, I think people are expecting too much from it, since it's waving the "from the creators and author of Nanoha" flag.
Personally, I still find it an enjoyable show to watch. It might not be earth-shattering awesome, but at least the plot is original not cliche and overdone to death like many shows, and watching it does put a smile on my face.
For me at least the guy has promise. He may not know what exactly is going on, but he seems to adapt quickly, I mean, give him a break, being pulled into another world... that only happens in anime right?!?

steins gate is a reasonably good anime, the reason why it might be on the list is because people were excepting more, considering that the game was highly praised back in japan. This is probably the same with nichijou, considering people were probably expecting another excessively cute moeblob from kyouani. Dog days, its quite obvious by its so bad, considering there are loads of reviews over the net about its crappyness. simple reasons include the empty characters, boring narrative, heavily predictable..blah blah blah
Steings gate for me is a reasonaly good anime, but it did dissapoint my expactations.
As for best anime, Ano hana, and Hanasaku Iroha make the top of my list
Dog Days is disappointing beause they expected something similar to Nanoha.

Honestly I watched EP1 and didn't bother after that.
Exactly, it is a pretty damn entertaining show after the first episode. Also if you want your magic circle fix go watch Time Paladin Sakura. It does not dissapoint XD
Try episode 2 and 3 it gets MUCH better after EP. 1.
