A survey of women bra-users finds some 27% see no need to wear one outside, whilst 44% regard pink bras as even sexier than black ones, and washboard lovers distressed by the inflating cup sizes enjoyed by Japanese women will be pleased to know 20% of the female population is still A-cup…
The survey of 10,342 Japanese women was conducted by top Japanese underwear maker Wacoal.
When asked where they would feel comfortable going bra-less, of the six choices – going out for a walk, popping out on a bicycle, going off on the train, going anywhere, never going out without a bra and never going bra-less even at home – 27% responded they would be happy going off no-bra.
Breast-size also played a role – 31.9% of A-cup women were happy to go out without a bra, compared to only 20.2% of E-cup women.
Problems with fit likely also contributed, with 83.7% of women reporting some kind of discomfort experienced as a result of wearing a bra.
The actual breakdown of cup-sizes reported (although given the above fact just how well these women know their own sizing is something to ponder):
AA/A – 19%
B – 28%
C – 25%
D – 15%
E – 7%
F+ – 5%
Aside from reasons of comfort or aesthetic considerations, there is some doubt as to whether there is any pressing medical reason to wear a bra – the notion that a bra has any positive impact on sagging is not supported by any proper medical research, though of course it is supported by underwear manufacturers (Wacoal accuses bra-less women of “lacking bust-care awareness”), and 43.1% of the women surveyed believed it as well.
The survey also quizzed women on what colours they regarded as best for their “victory bra” – pink came first with 43.7%, followed by black with 39.8%, perhaps explaining something about the nation’s low birthrate.

They're a waste of money for small women. Fat men with large 'breasts' don't need them, they might as well be flushing their money down a toilet. I imagine it could be quite uncomfortable for women with large breasts to just let them hang and swing everywhere 24/7, however.

But they don't need 'exhaustive' medical research, you only need to look at any people/culture that live in places where clothes let alone bras are not vital such as the more primtive lifestyles still out there to see what happens to a female that shuns wearing a bra.
Granted everything sags in time. But it need not sag sooner than required.
Myself, I'd be just fine if women went braless, as by the time they are old enough to need to care about their appearances, they should be done with needing to attract a mate anyway.

"primitive cultures" women as you suggest don't have sagging breasts due to lack of bras, but because of using their breasts to nurse. Women from affluent cultures are not required to nurse children, they let the children be raised on animal milk or milk that is refined and not natural. Using the breasts for what they were made for causes them to sag. Not having the money to buy bras means no money for augmented milk, in fact women from a poorer culture would more likely keep lactation going well after having a child that needs to be nursed, due to a village need to have wet nurses.
Yep, the sagging occurs because those women use them to nurse, and unlike in our cultures those women either don't know about, or can't afford contraception, which is why they have to nurse a LOT of children.
When the breasts are used to nurse, the milk making system gets bigger. It will shrink when it's not needed anymore but the skin and ligaments holding the breasts won't, thus they sag.

Because the bra takes all the load off the ligaments and muscles that support them. That results in said muscles and ligaments getting weaker. When the bra is taken off they are too weak to hold the breasts.
Of course you should avoid too much bouncing, for that can damage the ligaments and tissue. So it's best to wear bras when doing sports and activities where bounce too much. But other than that it's best to go braless whenever possible, to have the ligaments etc "work" and stay strong.
I agree, and for women worried about breast saging just do light muscle exersize especially pushups.

Muscle mass has very little to do with sagging. Sagging is often cause by ligaments and connective tissue stretching. And the more you go braless, the faster they will stretch, leading to faster sagging.
The breast itself isn't made of muscle so toning the muscles underneath will only serve to lift the sagging breasts further from your body, but they'll still be sagging.

I don't take biology or anatomy, since I'm studying Engineering. But this, and most of the stuff in your life, is not about what subjects you took, but if you can think logically and whether you can do proper research.

I never said anything about muscles in the breasts. I was talking about the muscles supporting the breast ligaments and tissue (pectoral muscles). It might not prevent sagging, but it makes the sagging look less obvious.

If ligaments stretch so easily you shouldn't move your body at all, or your spine ligaments might stretch and you won't be able to stand upright anymore.
They will stretch with aging. Nothing can totally prevent sagging.
So the best is to go braless at least at home. Healthy nutrition can probably help.
Keep the skin smooth and healthy with lotions etc, it's part of the things holding the shape.

There are several scientific studies out there supporting my theory. Of course they probably aren't 100% accurate, but they all have the same general idea.
Because most women around you wear bras, most people don't realize how common saggy breasts are. Most, if not all, women who have soft and large breasts sag. It's just how gravity works. If she has firm but medium sized breasts, they won't sag. Lindsay Lohan has giant honkers that are very soft, and if you see topless photos of her breasts are swinging near the bottom of her ribcage.
