Ishihara Re-elected as Tokyo Governor

Tokyo’s 78-year-old governor Shintaro Ishihara is thought to have been re-elected for a fourth term by a large margin.
An exit-poll breakdown of the voting preferences of Tokyo voters shows the main reason Ishihara is unassailable – old people are either as senile and demented as he is or else recognise a politician who can be counted on to push the interests of old people at the expense of everyone else, and so overwhelmingly vote for him.
Consequently, as most of the electorate is elderly and the electorate as a whole continues to become even older, he is impossible to oust.
The age breakdown of voting preferences, with candidates from left to right being Ishihara, Higashikokubaru, Watanabe and Koike:
As might by now be expected of Ishihara, on the day of his election he was already making public statements hinting at the need for yet another ban, this time on pachinko and vending machines in the capital.
As previously reported, the publishing industry also clearly expects further bans and Ishihara has stated he wants to censor the Internet, so the worst may be yet to come.

I have a question for you. Do you support Ishihara destroying your own economy? That is what will happen with his bans. Anime & manga sales will drop rapidly and also other industries will be effected because of that. Various different industries rely on each other in various ways and if one falls others will be hurt by that. So supporting Ishihara is supporting the fall of your economy since bans are never good for the economy. I hope you find another place to live after you get evicted for losing your job.
Anime and manga sales will not drop. Manga is supported by non-ecchi work....eg One Piece and it's 200 million units shipped and likewise Anime is supported not by Kodomo no Jikan etc but by Naruto, Bleach and One Piece. The fact that a few foreigners like their ecchi doesn't mean shit in Japan as most foreigners steal manga through scanlation and anime through fansubbing anyway.
