Steins;Gate = “A Serious Anime with Plot & Cute Girls!”

Huke and Nitroplus designed visual novel Steins;Gate‘s much anticipated anime adaptation has aired to a generally positive reception.
Steins;Gate has the distinction of being the most anticipated anime of the season (admittedly not a difficult feat), thanks largely to the strong reputation and highly distinctive visual style of the original.
The original visual novel, released on PC and Xbox 360, features a circle of Akihabara-based otaku in a complex time-travel based science fiction plot.
Fan opinion cooled slightly as it became apparent that the anime had dumped much of the distinctive look of the original for a more generic anime style, but the anime still managed to attract a rather impressive live viewership of 250,000 during its NicoNico premier, making it a definite contender for the season’s top spot.

I can't watch this show. I keep thinking back to Chaos;Head and I don't want to suffer that mind-numbing pretentious garbage that should be MST3K'd to hell and back all over again.
The anime of chaos head was fucking terrible. People are hoping this is going to be good because of the game and the artist huke.

It wasn't that terrible. More like unorthodoxly peculiar. ^_^

I was watching Choas;Head on my PSP while in Breaks Between Classes.
Let's just say I said WTF over 1 - 2 dozen times while watching the series.
It's like "WTF is real and not?"
I'll wait until the whole season is out for this series, then give it a shot.
I'd rather watch the whole season in 1 sitting if it's gonna be a MindFuck.

Yes, but with a Series that is a MindFuck, I will want to watch the next episode Right After it to try to figure out WTF is going on.
I'd rather wait for the whole season to be out, so i wouldn't have to stop and wait for the episodes to be released.

Agreed. EVERYONE was waiting for Kaiji 2! I thought Steins;Gate might be good but chaos;head gave me doubts like many others here but more anticipated by me is C, deadman wonderland, Kaiji 2 and even Denpa Onna. Personally I though this season would be as good as the previous just with more watchable titles.

after Chaos;Head i don't wanna watch it, even if it's made by a different staff. i'll wait untill someone translates the original VN and i play it, which is not gonna happen anytime soon.

The original style was so much more appealing and unique. This is most disappointing, like when Valkyria Chronicles transitioned to psp and lost its visual style.
Definitely looking forward to how the anime will play out compared to the VN. Love the VN to death, and I really, really hope the anime won't fail. First episode was epic and I hope they keep it up. ED was awesome as well.

I don't get the whole "mindfuck" comments. As far as stories involving time travel go, this is incredibly simple.
