The birthday of Strike Witches‘ Hauptmann Gertrud Barkhorn is falls on March 20th, and it seems even a non-loli witch is capable of commanding some creepy otaku celebrations.
2ch also supplies German (or possibly Gelman) well-wishing: “Alles Liebe zum Geburtstag! Hauptmann Gertrud Barkhorn”
Not incoincidentally, the 20th also happens to be the birthday of top Nazi ace Gerhard Barkhorn, who unsurprisingly is not the recipient of much (or in fact, any) creepy otaku cake…

Oh you, also that toast is more freaky than a tribute
Happy Birthday Gertrud Barkhorn!! :D
That's odd, I thought Jesus had a copyright on toast
appearances! Happy Birthday Gertrud! You to Gerhard!
I want to learn how to design toast like that pic...making Misaka's pic on a toast is an incentive fuel for more than a day ^____^

It's RAW but still, very usefull
This is fucking genius! Now if you excuse me, I'm busy preparing my lunch package...
Could the strike witches come here and help us get Ghedaffi?
I heard the 31st Joint Fighter Squadron is on the way :D
Perrine is going. :P
damn,why I was not logged? >_<
Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday liebe Trude, happy birthday to you!
Heute kann es regnen,
stürmen oder schnein,
denn du strahlst ja selber
wie der Sonnenschein.
Heut ist dein Geburtstag,
darum feiern wir,
alle deine Freunde,
freuen sich mit dir.
Refrain:
Wie schön, dass du geboren bist,
wir hätten dich sonst sehr vermisst.
wie schön, dass wir beisammen sind,
wir gratulieren dir, Geburtstagskind!
Unsre guten Wünsche
haben ihren Grund
Bitte bleib noch lange
glücklich und gesund.
Dich so froh zu sehen,
ist was uns gefällt,
Tränen gibt es schon
genug auf dieser Welt.
(Refrain)
Montag, Dienstag, Mittwoch,
das ist ganz egal,
dein Geburtstag kommt im Jahr
doch nur einmal.
Darum lass uns feiern,
dass die Schwarte kracht,
Heute wird getanzt,
gesungen und gelacht.
(Refrain)
Wieder ein Jahr älter,
nimm es nicht so schwer,
denn am Älterwerden
änderst du nichts mehr.
Zähle deine Jahre
und den' stets daran:
Sie sind wie ein Schatz,
den dir keiner nehmen kann.
(Refrain)
Hoch soll sie leben,
hoch soll sie leben,
drei mal hoch!
xD
Ahaha it's a German birthday song :D
That's a cake Gertrud would be proud of. The toast maybe less so...
I guess I am the only one who remembered that Adolfine Galland's birthday was 19 March. Just because she is over 20 and wears pants doesn't mean we should discriminate against her.
Nature abhors pants.
funny, it's also adolf gallands birthday today
but then of course lonely otaku in japan don't care about WW2 fighter pilots unless they're 2D,female, and fighting aliens, lol
The First and the Last was a great book written by Galland. Read it a longtime ago.
Actually, the German is quite correct.
I was hoping for Gertrud from Madoka. Can't she have otaku celebrations as well?
Because Madoka < Strike Witches.
Strike Witches < K-ON < Madoka and the cycle continues.
people that think strike witches > madoka will be forever alone
Pandas > Strike Witches > K-ON > Madoka
Watch as I bring a totally unrelated item into the chain :D
I don't think the average B-day Otakus will enjoy a show without Moe or Fanservice.
Hence why Madoka is only enjoyed by Traitors or disgusting Type A Otakus.
Type A Otakus can burn in hell....
Awww, happy birthday Gertrud! Enjoy your birthday with your friends.
happy birthday gertrud your amzingly lovely lol
Her dere-dere side is what makes all the otakus' hearts melt.
i like her mini twin tail
gertrud xD
what a name..
happy birthday, gertrud! :D
"2ch also supplies German (or possibly Gelman) well-wishing"
Actually the German isn't just correct it's also very natural sounding. Shows to what lengths otaku will go for their waifu...
Happy Birthday Gertrud.
The japanese know german. Now that is new.
Happy B-day to the said Character! And Long-live the type B Otakus!
Top Nazi Ace is still top ace, no matter when or where... Red Baron-ning is quite common during the war...
Happy Birthday Trude :)
Otaku should stop doing stupid thing.
Go outside, move your lazy ass help anybody who touble from earth quark and tsunami.
If this is only thing you can do than otaku should be hated and banned.
You should take your own advice and do something instead of telling others.
otaku celebrate sadness...evreysingle day of their pathetic lives
U mad nobody celebrated your birthday?
Now I'm proud to be a German ^ ^
Alles gute zum Geburtstag.
Trudy is so underrated!
Oh thank god I didn't forget well Happy birthday Barkhorn (even though I like Hartman better)
tsunami missed these "people"
A salute ("Gruß") to our heroes even in time of tragedy
>20th also happens to be the birthday of top Nazi ace Gerhard Barkhorn
Are you serious? They based her on a Nazi. Ugh. I really wish I hadn't found that out...
He was a German soldier who fought for Germany. It doesn't mean he had to be a card carrying Nazi or sympathetic to their ideals.
Not everyone who fought for Germany was a Nazi but most were German patriots who loved their country.
Gertrud? I'd expect an old woman to have that name.
