That's exactly my point... HouseLife was defending the fact that tsunami isn't the same as a murder because a tsunami is natural. But that isn't the point is it?

Even though it's ridiculous, I can see Ishihara making that connection. No, wait... especially because it's ridiculous.

And if anyone wasn't clear, there wasn't a tsunami in the episode. It was a moment when the boys were picturing what the cosplay princess was telling them about a "ruler of destruction".

I'm not saying things should be banned or it's morally wrong. I just think it's a sensitive time plus all the potential customers in the viewing audience aren't there since there's millions in brown/black outs. There's a whole bevy of issues economy-wise there too.

Just delaying them a little bit isn't really making some statement that censorship is right or anything. And sorry, Houselife, but I can't take any joke about catastrophes as something funny. Especially since currently going, I've lived through too many of them. And my heart is breaking for my distant relatives my family has in many of those regions and even if something like their property being damaged, it just sucks to hear the kind of trials and tribulations they've gone through. That's kind of why I won't be against some kind of delay. I'd rather see people try to recover a bit, maybe get those blackouts in order and be eased into living again.

I agree, however in reality, is it any better two weeks from now when we see the death tole hit over 1000 and people have realization of what level of destruction has hit them? No, no matter what it'll rub certain people the wrong way based on their circumstances.

If they are offended because they don't understand that time continues moving forward, and this was created long before this happened and isn't an intentional cosmic joke, then that is their own issue in believing the world's out to get them. It's an understandable reaction if they have devastation in their lives, but in the end, those people are locked in their own minds right now, dealing with tragedy. They lack perspective in that state, and that shouldn't cause problems for everyone else because they saw a show. From what I observe, it wasn't even a big part of the show, but a passing gag unrelated to anything else. I could be wrong on that point, however.

Either way, people who live through and must deal with tragedy will always have my sympathy and support, but they will not get special treatment from me when they start blaming things and seeking illogical vengeance against their circumstances such as complaining about an animated tsunami joke after a tragic event. I am one of the people after 9/11 who saw the photoshop of Godzilla attacking the burning world trade center and laughed my ass off. Why? Because it was funny.

Agreed, Shippoyasha, but again, a TV broadcast will do nothing for or against them in that situation. It's not out of disrespect that it was shown, so by that logic, it's not disrespectful to show either. It's merely what it was, no more, no less.

Of course it doesn't matter, because being offended is in the eye of the beholder. I'm sure there are some over there who have/will take offense to it being shown and there'll be some kind of apology.

Whether it'd be pulled or not is not necessarily what I was talking about, just whether this could be considered bad taste. Chances are they're working on much more important things than people being offended right now. And if they tried to do something stupid like pull programming in case of offense now, people would lose money and fiscal issues they don't need would arise.

But then, I always overestimate humanity's ability not to let things slide in favor of a good laugh. I anticipate there'll be a backlash article in a day or so because of people who want to blame something.

Pokemon I can sort of understand pulling an episode if kids could be nervous about an earthquake in their area. But it's still a weak-minded thing to do.
