The way I see it this is the times when anime is most needed.
I mean, imagine being stuck in a hospital bed injured, you turn on the TV looking for distraction, normalcy and comfort, you just want to see the face of Mikoto to wash your pain away... except the anime got delayed because some people thought it might be inappropriate, here, watch more clips of people getting hurt by the tsunami.
You imagined they wouldn't air anime after the earthquake...but Index II shattered that illusion of yours.

Maybe after spending a day picking up their shattered lives and finding out if loved ones are alright some people might find some comfort in turning on their TV and watching something other than casualty/damage reports
I think everyone forgot that in the event of an emergency everything in the world must grind to a complete halt, even late night cartoons...
I'm certain series are sold in a one time TV deal where a certain amount of money is paid beforehand from TV station to anime company before it goes on the air, and not per weekly ratings/percentage
No reason to stop making money just because an earthquake happened.

I'm not sure people are in a spending mood or worry about catching up with anime at this point in time. I know my older relatives are in a frenzy just trying to confirm they're alive and well and the entire city of Tokyo is in a bit of a gridlock, highways are closed near the disaster areas and the electric power supply is in critical short supply since the tsunami knocked out that nuclear power plant.
Either way, I am suspecting we may not see a new episode of anime fora few days probably. Wouldn't surprise me. They need time to get through this.
Repealing the ban would be a good first step.
Well if anything, tv ratings would be significantly lower because still about 3 million houses in the Tokyo/Sendai region are without power. I won't complain since I got my Index, but it probably would have been a better choice from a financial standpoint to delay it a week so everyone could watch it one they fixed the power

I like To Aru Majutsu no Index II. Sad it's ending soon. I wish we would see Mikoto find out about Touma's memory loss and magic. Did anyone else notice how Index is mentioning angels to Mikoto over the phone and how Mikoto is like all calm about it? I mean she should be asking better questions rather than stuff like "Oh so you think that will work?" I wonder if during off camera that Index explained the concept of magic and angels to her. I dunno. I felt like something was missing from this episode. Then again Mikoto is trying to avoid being pelted by bullets.
No she didn't and Mikoto didn't take her seriously, thus, she never gets involved with the magic side or Touma.

This show keeps getting dumber and dumber and worse and worse. Accelerator had a floor full of glass shards and the power the use them, so he goes for hand to hand and epically fails.

all problems can be solved by punching a woman in the face. I still remember when he landed a 5 hit combo on accelerator with only his right hand.
After building everything up it was a pretty god damn unsatisfying conclusion to the arc.
A Macross like "Sing a song and everything will be ok" solution was also kinda of "Oh come on..."
The arc hasn't concluyed yet, only the fights, duh!
