The CEO of the company responsible for the live Miku concert fans have condemned as “pathetic” has issued an apology, but fans remain unimpressed.
For some reason deciding to awkwardly deliver a long and tedious series of explanations by way of Twitter, organiser 5pb’s CEO Chiyomaru Shikura attempted to extinguish the flames of Mikumaniac outrage:
“Regarding our inability to satisfy the expectations of some of you, I must apologise. It was inexcusable.”
However, when it comes to addressing the major complaint about the event – that 5pb didn’t even bother using a transparent screen as in previous performances – he expresses surprise that it was omitted, but as a reason only lamely offers “this was the result of the choice that was made,” even after checking with stage staff.
In earlier exchanges he had stated rather oddly claimed he could not apologise, as it would be on behalf of the other parties involved as well as 5pb – this buck-passing only further incited angry Miku fans however, and he soon recanted:
“It’s not that ‘I can’t apologise,’ it is more that ‘I can’t just apologise on my own without consulting everyone involved,’ and this delayed the apology.”
Fans seem less concerned about “what went wrong?” than they are with “why did you think you could get away with this?”, so it seems unlikely this level of contrition will really appease them.

CEO uses "apology"
It wasn't very effective!
It doesn't even sound like an apology, it's sounds like he's saying people's expectations were too high or unrealistic. Apology my ass (well that's how it sounds to me).
"I apologise for our shitty organisation"
.
.
.
.
"But i dont care because we got enough money from you scum, kthxbye"
It's certainly possible that 5pb isn't entirely to blame though. They might have been given a much lower budget to work with than the team at Sega who organized it last year. Perhaps he's implying that they just weren't able to match last year's show with the resources allocated to them, but he doesn't want to directly blame the people who hired them.
Still, I can't imagine that adding a half hour commercial break was outside their control. Couldn't they have just had commercials before and after the show, if they found them necessary? If the musicians needed an intermission, I'm sure they could have found something more entertaining to fill that time with.
"lower budget" - that's ridiculous. They all just were trying to milk it for more profit! And/or were just way over their heads in trying to produce this concert. The 30min commercial filled break was probably massive technical glitch.
They've might have single-handedly totally wrecked any future Vocaloid concert.

next time they should have a company with a better budget to hold these concerts cuz this shit was all kinds of "cheap and lazy"
A tv screen with animated characters.
Seriously, if people wanted to see that, they could just go on youtube and probably get better quality.
Its not "we didn't have enough resources" its "we ripped people off and will not give them their money back."

an apology wont cut it seriously....
he should promise to never hold an event regarding miku hatsune... seriously that thing was horrible..
Even with the transparent screen I think it would have be only so-so. The models are nice but you don't get the "wow I forgot they are not real" feeling.
It was just far too MMD for my taste (just based on the videos I have seen so far).
The best apology would be a refund. Follow that with an announcement that they would be holding the concert again, properly this time.
Unfortunately, there looks like no refund for the live viewer..
If they were really sorry, they'd give a full refund of the ticket to each person.
The concert wasn't THAT bad. It was worse than last year, true, but it was enjoyable enough.
I still had chills when some of the songs played and some moments, like, for instance, Miku running away from the spotlight during "E? Aa, sou" were cute.
People are exaggerating, as always. I'd wager most of those who comment here haven't even seen the concert and base their own opinion around whatever opinion was posted on SanCon. Many people actually say they enjoyed it and are waiting to buy the BD/DVD, so there.
It was bad enough to raise so many complains the CEO had to apologize, and that's the whole point of the comment, numbnuts; not if it was bad or shitty-bad.
Best part of the show in a sad sad way:
Miku: Now it's time for a 30min break
Audience: (in unison) Ehhhhh!?!?
He shouldn't have to apologise at all.
All I see are a bunch of babies crying that a different organiser did something different.
The transparent screen had high levels of glare and a poor viewing angle. 5pb were right in trying a dark backdrop in an attempt to improve quality.
Don't get me started on all the people commenting here that know absolutely nothing on the subject and yet feel they have the right to complain over something they didn't even pay for.
I don't see anyone bringing up the fact that the costuming and choreography was greatly improved from last year.
Quite true.. still I think they should use the transparent screen, for more "real" effect
>this was the result of the choice that was made
no shit?
rudundant argument is redundant
is as if they only cared about making money.
Still waiting on the Engrish version.
SEGA-man, to the rescue!
.... about now would be good.
SEGATA SANSHIRO!!! SEGATA SANSHIRO!!!
I expected them to apologize, I expected the people to not listen to it, even if it was actually a good one & I expected the situation to remind the way it was, not even close to changing...
While yes, they should never do it again due to the high expectations here was for it...
At the same time, the fans should really just get over it already as there are far more important things to rage over then some short concert fiasco as they keep calling it...
I don't even know why they expected it to be to their expectations in the first place? I mean really, whatever, this is not even important anymore imo...
Is it just me or is that screen not even a 1/3 of the size of last year?
I could really care less about Miku but I understand their frustrations. No one goes to a concert to watch a music video!
He`s acting like a Tsundere, but males simply don`t have appeal when doing that, it only makes them look miserably laughable. Also he`s terrible at it too.
I think this happened because SEGA wasn't involved. They cannot matched SEGA's animation skill and technology to matched last year's concert. I think they should cooperates again with SEGA for future concerts..
The sad part about the animation is, it was animated by SEGA subsidiary Marza Animation Planet, whose sole purpose in life is to do "quality animations" (i.e., not "video game animations").
That's like saying your animation was done by Pixar instead of (insert your favorite game engine developer here). One would expect Pixar to have better animations because they're concentrating on animating a full-length, pre-rendered movie as opposed to short-length, realtime-rendered animations like in games.
It's really sad when your full-length animation team does a worse job than your game-development team.
As much as I hate Miku and the rest of the vocaloids, I think they deserved better than this. Especially knowing what they were supposed to be seeing.
Only an a apology not good enough, also they should be begging SEGA to do future concert's.
I have watched the show.. it wasn't all that bad. Sure the graphic quality went down compared to the previous concert, but it's quite good actually. Too bad they didn't use the clear screen though...
If the previous concert scores 100, I would score this one as 85..
It's obvious 5pb isn't even nearly capable of handling a project like this. So please let SEGA helm the ship again next time.
this is like the catholic priest who molested you when you were young finally decided to apologize with the same bullshit reasons after getting caught.
OR
this is like the retarded US live by VIZ who decided to show a blu ray version of the live instead of an actual live.
You think it was a budget cut due to last year's perfect performance...
Gee thats kinda like most top concerts in the US!
They can apologize with a world concert tour
I would ask for a refund. I don't want my Miku on an ugly-ass black screen.

Your complain is understandable - quite a lot of foreigners spent lots of their money to buy a ticket to that show, plane tickets and hotel and to visit that long awaited concert only to view that lame primitive show, that wasn't even close to last one.
Sorry for all of you (i could be one of you, but missed chance to buy a ticket).
