K-ON! Fans “Will Run Amok If Girls Get Boyfriends at Uni”

The girls of K-ON! will be at university in weeks, but not all fans are happy – in fact, the creepiest amongst them seem to be in danger of creating some potentially entertaining drama.
The concern naturally stems from the outlandish notion that a moeblob can have a boyfriend, or that a woman can be appealing out of a school uniform:
“They are going to go nuts when the girls start going on group dates and even getting boyfriends…”
“Who cares about university students anyway – their uniforms must have been a big factor in their popularity.”
“They could have just wrapped it up at school and left things concluded nicely like that.”
“I don’t know what it’ll be like at university, but the K-ON! we know and love is finished.”
On the other hand, asking an actual female university student (K-ON! has a significant following amongst young women) yields quite a different response:
“I’m really excited about the continuation! It’s a given you’ll get a boyfriend, so it’s no surprise. I’m more interested in when they get to play the Budokan.”
2ch is of course generally considered to be closer to the former school of thought, but even so there is much recognition of the presumed inevitability of the girls developing normal human relationships rather than turning into bitter misanthropes or crazed girl-school lesbians:

I'm certainly not gonna "run amok" because they have boyfriends. I'm more worried about the possibility that I might stop enjoying the show when males come in. Generic anime male characters these days suck so much that they ruin so many good shows.

I'm enjoying the series regardless. I'll be happy if they get a nice man who support them and bring more comedy to the piece. Saying that, the guy who worked at the store that one time seemed to have an eye for one of the girls. Very adorable. Girls this cute will eventually get boyfriends, ya'll are freaks for not thinking otherwise. Or girlfriends for that matter. Either way, they should be happy. Anyone who says other wise is dumb as hell. And need to get a life.

you might be right and wrong. it mentions that mugi is studying for a all girls private uni, yui and ritsu decide to follow her, but sawako tells them to choose another uni of thier skills and mio declines the uni offered to her by sawako to join the other 3. But it doesnt mention if they decided to go to mugi's uni or a all girls uni for that matter, although it does seem that they most likely chose to go with Mugi. Also if you watch the ending of ep 22 where they are checking their scores, it seems that all the students around the area are mostly girls...but who knows.
They just don't want to see their favorite characters getting boyfriends because the Otaku guys don't have girlfriends of their own. I find it stupid. It'd be like iDolM@STER getting males in the game all over again. Ugh.

Also the sense of closeness in the anime is normal for most girls who are not lesbians. Men do about the same thing but IN THEIR OWN WAY.
Also if you can really read what's going on granted that's most easiest thing since the show is pretty simple to miss anything. The times where there are lesbian-ish implications, it was just done for comedic purposes.

I'm happy for this continuation of the Manga. However, considering the viceral reaction that came from just a suggestion of Ritsu having a boyfriend in the Manga was a sight to behold (and it was even more funny because it just turned out to be a misunderstanding) I personally wouldn't mind the girls getting boyfriends, but I doubt Kakifly would be willing to do that after the uproars caused by mere misunderstandings, much less KyoAni if they decide to adapt again.
Regardless, with a continuation, I can enjoy both the contents of the Manga and the inevitable fan dumb reactions to whatever they deem "impure". It's entertainment on all levels! Who could pass that up?
A male character with Kyon's personality might work.
Make him Ritsu/Yui's boyfriend and things will be hilarious.
A foreign exchange student might work as Mio's boyfriend.
But seriously, I'd really want to see the K-ON! gals get boyfriends.
