Top yuri anime and eroge franchise Koihime Musou is to receive a beat-em-up adaptation, replete with copious amounts of both pantsu and loli…
The game, provisionally entitled “Shin Koihime Musou Arcade Edition” is still in development – its release date, platform and even title are not yet finalised; further announcements are expected later in the month.
If they decided to release this game with all the girls in the Koihime Musou series, then it'd probably have the largest fighting game roster in the history of video games. XD
Yeah. I guess they have to go with faction endings or something like that. The 60 or so Koihime Musou characters falls into maybe 7 or 8 factions so maybe it's workable.
King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match pushed character counts to about 50, EX versions not included. It's not THE most balanced, but at least only those on Umehara level can spot the difference.
Then again, 2002UM is actually the 2nd revision of the original 2002(first revision was for DC and PS2 initial release) on the arcades after nearly 8 years, so yea...
Actually I've been waiting for something like this. I was a huge fan of the old Sango Fighter (an MSDOS SF clone from the 90's also based on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms storyline). For me this is a much updated release that couldn't have come sooner.
i'm sure they will expand the roster once they get up to "Super Shin Koihime Musou 4 Hyper Arcade Edition X: Bloodline Code Shift ver.2 Typeb"
all fighting games franchises start off with like 10-14 usually, then they expand greatly with sequels.
just look at dynasty warrior hack and slash series, every new game they put out just keeps adding to the list of playable characters. with a setting like the sengoku era, the potential for even over a hundred characters exist.
And here I am, thinking that a fighting game should be made with all intents and purposes as such, not a softcore eroge...
I mean God! IT CAME OUT AS AN EROGE FIRST! If they wanna make a fighting game, it should be made with all intents and purposes as such. Also, this is a game where we KICK asses, NOT FUCK em. That's what the eroge is for.
I'd forgive any unnecessary fanservice if they make the engine and balance great. For some reason though, I don't believe they're serious in achieving either.
I'm amazed it took them this long to do this. Now maybe they can call the guys who made the Ikkitousen fighting game and cross it over to have twice the moefied ancient Chinese general pantyshot action.
street fighter 2 = 8+4 unplayable bosses
Super Street Fighter 2 = 16
Guilty Gear 1 - 10
Guilty Gear X and X2- 14 + 2 hidden
King of Fighters - too many lol.
But yeah 60+ girls =O That would be reserved for like the 3rd or 4th game if at all. I'm sure half of them wouldn't be useful. Even Marvel Capcom 2 with like 54 playables only half were any good.
Garou Mark of The Wolves came out with 14 characters including 2 bosses, all of which are almost perfectly balanced in human hands. This was back in 1999, and the balance was achieved since its virgin release in the arcades.
All in all, it only depends on how serious the game devs take this game. It's difficult to think that they're aiming for something other than selling the game on the fact that it's an eroge derivative, unless they try hard enough from the start.
Just 10 characters from a mainstream company in 2011 is lazy. They may increase headcount for the next game, but that to me means that I'm better off waiting for a sequel.
Only 6 playable girls while the others are Assists..? Sad to say but this seems to be as disappointing as that Kyo Samurai Deeper game for the PS1... :<
While I think that too many characters can easily lead into balance issues, 10 is still too small amount today's standards.
The most recent 2D game I played that has near perfect balance is Garou Mark of The Wolves, which has 14 characters. Virtua Fighter 5 meanwhile has 20.
If they are serious about making a fighting game, they'd try to put in as much characters as they can, release it in the arcades for a few months and wait for the scene to sort the tier list themselves. Then they can release an update simultenously to both arcade and home versions.
I'm not betting that's what they really had in mind though. They could be just trying to cash in on the characters. I mean, how often do you see eroge derivatives become a half decent fighter? Melty Blood almost became good, but fan attention was never strong enough to sustain more releases. Everything else were just binary coded crap.
If they decided to release this game with all the girls in the Koihime Musou series, then it'd probably have the largest fighting game roster in the history of video games. XD
I wouldn't want to have too much characters. It'll decrease the chance that they'd put decent stories for them.
WHAT? HOT LOLIS? SOLD!
Yeah. I guess they have to go with faction endings or something like that. The 60 or so Koihime Musou characters falls into maybe 7 or 8 factions so maybe it's workable.
But imagine 60+ characters in a fighting game. XD
Not exactly an unachievable feat.

Initiate Loli Battle Program.
MvC2 had a lot of characters, but you always saw the same ones in tourneys 'cause it wasn't very balanced. Not that that made it a bad game.
I remember Marvel vs Capcom 2 had a ridiculous roster of its own.
Bleach Heat the soul has over 100 characters I thought...?
Plot? : - Once upon a time in ...*Pantsu teared apart*...and they lived happily ever after. THE END. that's all we need :3
I hope that "and they lived happily ever after" includes lots of hot loli yuri sex!
Unless you consider mugen, which has every fighting game character ever.
still want :))
one crucial info is missing...., who's the developer? capcom? 0-0
Well, as an arcade edition, chances are, there's going to be an arcade release
Err... if I remember correctly.
Tobal 2 (PS1 fighting game from about 10 years ago)
it has around 100 secret characters.
So just 60 characters is possible if they really want to.
It did, but you gotta realize that an overwhelming number of those were just like generic monsters with the exact same attacks.
It'd be like if they did 80 different color pallets for Mario, but they all controlled the same.
My goodnes, Renfa! HNNNGGGGG!!!
P.S. Art direction looks good, hoping the gameplay is half as interesting.
Learn one thing people, KING OF FIGHTERS! That's all!
Actually I've been waiting for something like this. I was a huge fan of the old Sango Fighter (an MSDOS SF clone from the 90's also based on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms storyline). For me this is a much updated release that couldn't have come sooner.
hot lolis
hot yuri
hot puddings
hot dresses
what more could you ask for??
looks like same art from PC games? Fighting game? Lolis? Panties?! I'm sold!
where's sousou?
hell yeah, looking promising indeed.
i'm sure they will expand the roster once they get up to "Super Shin Koihime Musou 4 Hyper Arcade Edition X: Bloodline Code Shift ver.2 Typeb"

Please let this be for psp (≧∇≦)/
Koei needs to take note and make a Koihime warriors game, that would be so awesome!
I guess it doesn't look too bad. At least not in screen shots anyway.
Mortal Combat style
Now if instead of normal extermination they added in some fanservice extermination at the end.
This game will be teh sex.
I'm still waiting for the Mangagamer release of the first VN. They've delayed it over 6 months now =\
It's Arcana Heart with actual pantsu shots! There is a Hatsune above us.
And here I am, thinking that a fighting game should be made with all intents and purposes as such, not a softcore eroge...

I don't know why I expected anything from this. It looks awful.
Just play Arcana Hearts.
I see the pantsu but no lolis.
Those girls are old.
please localize this :D
if Arcana Heart 3 made it, why not this game also?
three "thumbs" up!
WANT! my mind will blow up if it will be released on NGP!
I'm amazed it took them this long to do this. Now maybe they can call the guys who made the Ikkitousen fighting game and cross it over to have twice the moefied ancient Chinese general pantyshot action.
p.s. needs more characters :P
Ten is a good number.
street fighter 2 = 8+4 unplayable bosses
Super Street Fighter 2 = 16

needs more yuri
Need Diao Chan, enough said.
Diao Chan > all.
I hope they will have the adult pc version too ... with ero scene of each ending ... yum
I am looking forward to this, but I wouldn't expect it to be on a console though, maybe though, wouldn't want that though...
BTW, another reminder that I need to watch this already...
Only 6 playable girls while the others are Assists..? Sad to say but this seems to be as disappointing as that Kyo Samurai Deeper game for the PS1... :<
I think they are just not yet finished?
Or preparing to serve up an Expansion.
I think there is 10, as there are 4 blank slots in the middle.

I demand a PC version of this right away for god sake.
If not, i demand hackers to put your hands in this one, the same way arcana hearts 3 did, sinces is obious that this game will no cross japanese seas.
kudos if any of this two options happends one day.
As much as I love Koihime, the art style is fucked up.
