Creepy anime otaku have launched a petition to have scandal seiyuu Aya Hirano removed from a role in upcoming anime Kizumonogatari, saying she is going to ruin the image of the title.
Aya Hirano is cast in the role of Kiss-shot Acerola-orion Heart-under-blade (Shinobu Oshino) – fans say she must go:
We seek a change in the seiyuu of Kizumonogatari character Kiss-shot Acerola-orion Heart-under-blade!

1. Isn’t Aya Hirano’s image a bit inappropriate for the role of Kiss-shot?

2. Isn’t there a good change the casting of Aya Hirano will ruin the image of Kizumonogatari?
Presently, Hirano is not only a seiyuu but also a singer/talent/comedienne multi-talent type figure.
However, from her sexually explicit humour during TV appearances, admissions of tax evasion in tweets, mocking of mammography on TV, taxi driver fracas, etc., it is apparent she is in the public eye for some quite inappropriate reasons.
If she is cast in this role, is there not a grave danger she will substantially damage the image of the character and show?
A number of signatures of support have been made, although as the site is obscure and requires registration it seems unlikely it will attract much in the way of support.
Needless to say, the fact that Aya Hirano is now hated enough to cause fans of the works (whether they crazy or not is unfortunately beside the point) she appears in to demand her removal is probably not a good sign.
Her recent casting in a Final Fantasy role also attracted a great deal of attention, much of which was less than salutatory – it appears what remains of her seiyuu career may not last much longer.

I'm gutted to hear that she'll be playing Kiss-Shot. Not because of her personal life but because her voice really doesn't fit the image.
Aya can't do sinister and most of her voices just sound comical. Some like Itou Shizuka or Sakamoto Maaya would be much more suited to the role.
They could... start auditions for alternates for them... and say who could be a better replacement...
Or they could remain the bundle that stays quite and simply enjoy the game. It's FF. It's dying because of square enix. Aya could hardly make it fall faster...

It's bad publicity and of course people can complain about to the point where sponsors will remove ads if they get enough complaints. Now add in rabid fans who will outright boycott a product due to casting and you can see why the higher ups may want the problematic actress removed.
People bitch about Charlie Sheen but I don't think they would say any of his work or the characters he played have been tarnished. He's had some good roles in the past. I'm not about to let his present jackassery stop me from watching them.

Precisely. Mel Gibson may be a bit of a raving lunatic now, but that doesn't change that the man's a phenomenal actor and a pretty good director. People most definitely disagree with his chosen method of dealing with certain aspects of his life, but an actor is still an actor in front of a camera, or in this case, microphone.
I sincerely hope these fools don't ruin a career that has already proven itself just because they have no concept of reality. She hasn't even done anything that would truly require any type of retribution. Merely a few things that have caused some face-palming here and there. Aya Hirano's antics merely require lotion for dry skin from having shaken your head against your hand too much.

You contradict yourself by saying she's good, and then that she needs to be 'choked down' by fans? These moronic fans are complaining because of her public image, not because of her actual voice acting talent. And even the public image has nothing about it that would require this type of treatment. In fact I'm not sure, but they haven't even heard her in the role yet to make such a determination. Isn't this just the announcement of the casting? I'd love to hear what they WANT in the role then.
This is all just mindless idiots talking out their ass as usual. An actress in her various real life presences doesn't fit their personal tastes. That doesn't fit their image of a completely made up character in a completely made-up realm. God forbid a voice actress be able to do something not of this world effectively that may perhaps differentiate from her personal character, that'd almost be too much to ask of an ACTRESS, wouldn't it?
