Slatternly seiyuu Aya Hirano seems to be complaining that her evil record company masters are preventing her from making any new music.
In a series of remarks on Twitter, she reveals that she will not be able to record any new music or appear live for at least the duration of 2011.
Her only 2011 release seems likely to be a mere “best hits” compilation, due in April.
“There’ll be no live events to go with the album, nor any new songs or touring, for the same reason. Sorry if you were looking forward to them – I wanted to do them too.
[…]
My only scheduled release for this year is the best hits compilation. Unless the situation changes quite a bit I won’t be allowed to do anything musical.”
This is all thought to be the result of contractual or agency issues, although she has not revealed exactly what is going on.
If true, it is something of a blow considering her career now appears to be limited to appearing on trashy variety shows and making inflammatory comments on Twitter.

Touche. I'm annoyed at her attitude. She's so pretty, and she's just ruining herself by making all these 'woe is me' statements. How did this all start anyway? Was it just back when she admitted she likes older men, and ended up having her fan base crumble?
Well, let's be honest - the only reason that all the hate got lumped on her at first was that so many of her "fans" got pissed off that she wasn't actually like the imaginary version they had in their heads. Granted, she hasn't done much to help herself since, but this started with a lot of whiny virgins having it dropped on them that sorry, your favorite voice actress is not celibate. Surprise surprise.
I wanted to believe that all that hate is completely out of the otaku disappointment. Nowadays though, that's no longer the case.

Back on the topic, I was like "WHAT?!" when I read the title, because I don't remember Hirano actually MADE any songs. All she did is karaoke.
Due to the contract issues she will re-name herself "the-artist-formally-known-as-Aya"
I still really like her Riot Girl CD and if you've ever heard the CD of Haruhi Soundtrack live by Tokyo Philharmonic, Aya belts out an impressive version of "God knows...".
I liked Riot Girl also. It had that poppy chick rock thing going on like misono, Puffy, and Nana Kitade's eariler stuff. Also if I'm not mistaken, that live of "God Knows" was on youtube and yeah, she did really well with it.
I don't think she has anything else to hold the better parts of her career together anymore if this is the case...
She will become a shadow of her formal self by 2012 at this rate...

Nobody knows what exactly is going on inside the Entertainment Industry. That industry is full of lies and contradictions. So even though Aya Hirano is being like that now, I still can't judge her unacceptable.

her album "riot girl" was not that bad, a different slant on most of the j-pop genre, more of a retro punk sound, i quite liked it.

Sad... She got popular in the first place due to the Haruhi craze. But after she got popular, she forgot who her original fans were. So she shut out all her otaku fans and thought that she was a superstar.

Granted anyone who uses Twitter to talk about their own lives are attention whores, but not many of their tweets get posted on a different website than their own.
Who's more at fault, Aya for using Twitter like millions of other people (including celebrities from all around the world regardless of their Rank or how popular they are) or Artefact for reporting it and treating it like news?
