Lol, when i wrote that i didn't even think about the last part of the episode, he was bitching and being a wuss before that.
There's also the nearly getting shot by that crossbow trap in the lounge bit.
A wuss would've pissed his paints, he was merely shocked, now contrast that with how the grown men reacted to the traps. Bunch of panicky lemmings.
Then there's him saving Victorique from that other crossbow trap in the corridor, again shielding her with his own body. (leading to praise by the dark haired girl)
Yeah, he was being fussy. Then again, not wanting to be treated like some type of servant does give him the right to bitch about said treatment.
Quite frankly, thus far for being little more than the side kick, he's shown plenty of cojones, especially considering the day and age in which this takes place.

Heck, the first case dealt with a medium, just to further cement how superstitious this era still was.
