Japanese gamers asked to rank their most anticipated games of 2011 yield up a list headed not by some blockbuster RPG as might be expected, but by none other than Ore no Imouto, backed up by plenty of other anime-based games.
The ranking, as compiled by Dengeki:
1. Ore no Imouto PSP (PSP)
2. The Last Story (Wii)
3. Valkyria Chronicles 3 (PSP)
4. To Aru Majutsu no Index (PSP)
5. Amagami (PSP)
6. Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy(PSP)
7. Gyakuten Kenji 2 (DS)
8. Catherine (PS3/360)
9. Rune Factory Origins (PS3/Wii)
10. Fantasy Star Portable 2 (PSP)
Disgaea 4 came 13th and Tales of Xillia 14th, for those wondering. The only western game to feature on the list is the pitifully late Japanese edition of Dragon Age: Origins, at 19th.
The closeness of Dengeki to the anime world probably accounts for the strong showing from anime-styled games, and the year-end dating of the survey appears to have just missed the mass of 3DS related game announcements made recently – Love Plus at the very least would otherwise likely feature.
garbage, garbage all of them
i want my lolis, yes i do good sirs, but i want my lolis in a mother fucking game with mother fucking good game play, and i want them to be f♥♥k mothering badass to the point where if you gave them sexy clothing it would make them less sexy.
Gentlemen, isn’t it time that every company put gameplay first before moe!
when those japanese eroges sells more than one million copy, tell me kthxbai,
Valkyria Chronicles 3 should have been on both psp/ps3 imho
Where the hell is Dead Space 2?
This list is borderline dissapointing & where the fucking hell is Marvel VS Capcom 3 : Fate of Two Worlds…I would expect to see that if anything as it has been almost 10 years since people started first anticipating this game’s eventual release & it finally happens & no one is anticipating it now that they know it’s coming!?…
Anywho, I also see too many PSP games, but I guess Japan does get the better end of that handheld console’s games so fair game…
& why is there even a Dissidia game on this list at all?…Guess it’s getting better respect over there then over here…
I’ve learned to beware of anime licensed games.
