But this is interesting. The quality is really up there. Most of the recolors I;ve seen have been pretty crap.
I've seen recolors for close to a Decade and this one just Blows them away!

I still do not understand why in this day an age manga isn't fully colored to begin with.
My friend is a comic book love and he always taunt this over my head. He finds it funny that even the crappiest of comics get colored. Mean while manga seems to be stuck in 1990 or something.
There's not nearly enough time to color a manga that comes out weekly. Most mangaka are down to the wire as it is. Plus the cost would sky rocket if they printed every manga in full color.
I generally prefer the b/w anyway.
I could have sworn Akira Toriyama had to sometimes do entire chapters in color, though their not as high quality as his other color pages.
Because it takes a lot of time to colour, so it's impossible in a short time to colour scan(a week for shounen)(more shounen mangaka have no life and no holidays...).
And personnaly, I prefer black and white manga!
a manga volume is about 200 pages
you would be pay x2 or x3 the normal price if it were fully colored
dunno about US comic book, but French-Belgium comics are like 50~70 full colored pages for 3 times the price of a manga volume
also, and I think it was the main reason to begin with, color takes more time than b&w. 1 chapter a week would be impossible
Besides the obvious labor savings, it's cheaper to print black and white and sell it at a cost that kids can buy.
I realize this isn't a kids manga, but the ones that are tend to drive the industry's practices.
It's not colored because they don't have time. American comics usually come out on a monthly or bi-monthly timeline where manga comes out every week. Well, I think TLR Darkness is on a monthly or so time now but it used to be weekly.

I personally like that manga is not colored, also even though manga is not colored I find most manga look a lot better that most ( actually all the) of the comics I've read that were in color. I don't read many comics though.

you cant real ycompare the coloring in comic books with that of manga. forst of all, comic books that are quality colored deifnately dotn come out in weekly or monthly chapters in a magazine do they? just think about it, it would either look crappy to color it like your average superman or disney comics, the shading in black and white looks much better normally, or it wouldd take ages and become extremely expensve if it were quality painted like this pages or mature comic books that come out on their own. so there you got your answer^^

Colour printing is more expensive and time consuming than B&W printing. The key here is profitability while expending the least amount of resources.
