I don't see the big deal even if it's indeed photoshoped. 99% of cosplay photos are all shooped anyway. It's pretty much a standard practice amongst any serious cosplayers.

They're korean. It's likely plastic surgery. :V I'm looking for the "glow" of photoshopped skin, but all of it looks really natural and typical of your C-Rank korean idol. It's likely plastic surgery~ they've all got some serious v-line faces.

I would give it 9.5/10, because of the swords that Black Rock Shooter and Black Gold Saw cosplayers holding are just katana. If they had put in the extra work on getting that right as well, then it would really be 10/10.
The cosplayers are cute, I'd say 8.5/10 at least. But the costume and the props are mediocre, they could done a better job sticking to the original. DM's horns are wrong. BRS's sword is not a generic katana, but I guess that's excusable because it's rather difficult to make one like it. BGS's sword is horrible wrong, and DM's scythe is far from accurate as well.
My verdict: pleasant to look at, but more effort is needed on the prop. I've seen stunningly accurate BRS series cosplays out there

Haha, I don't know about 'universally panned'. It was still very nice to look at and it was animated well and the highschool slice of life melodrama was nice. It's just that it's really hard to understand the point of the story. It felt like a test for a potential anime series or something.
But I thought it was nice.
As for Tomia and crew.... perfection after perfection.

They did a fair effort, but realistically they are all wrong T.T none of them have the right colored hair OR the right weapons. Dead masters scythe looks fail and her horns are compeltly wrong as well as the hair and dont get me started of gold saws sword =/

I love everything they are doing. Look at that level of professionalism. It's a far cry from anything you see on cosplay events. Though i still give props to cheapers cosplays because most people put their hearts into it.

That aren't lenses, it is just plain photoshop. You will notice it at the images that aren't closeups because they all have brown eyes there.
