I think this is a good move for Aya. She's pretty, young, and has a lovely voice. With a bit of training, she could become a very good actress.
She actually Debuted/started in acting around age 9 or so, started her in show biz. She didn't voiceact untill recently in her teens.

When I first saw her appearing on all those tv shows I got the impression she was being invited to those shows because she was the only cute voice actress out there. Well, we all know that's actually not the case at all.

Aya always wanted to be an actress. However you look at it though, she's not good at it. If she would be a true professional she would realize that.
She has other talents, like her work as a seiyuu or a an over-the-top storyteller.
Right now, i guess she's trying to play the jack of all trades. Which is an epic fail.
Seriously, she's a very welcome victim for the Japanese exploitation television shows. They certainly don't deny her lots of chances to make an ass of herself.

I wish Aya would stop trying to act cute. Her high-pitched voice doesn't suit her. Makes her sounds pretentious. And so is her smile. She should try acting in more serious shows, using her true, deeper voice.
