An source familiar with taxis is suggesting Aya Hirano’s recent taxi abduction episode must be a fabrictaion, as Japanese taxi doors simply do not function in the way she describes.

If it’s really true Aya should name the company in case others find themselves in the same situation.
It is of course common knowledge that the opening and closing of Japanese taxi doors is normally controlled by the driver, so there is not much to doubt about this account.
It is instead being suggested that the episode was either a complete fabrication, or else her version of her undergoing a fit of the crazies in the cab…

The safety feature in all taxis would not have allowed the vehicle to drive off whilst the car door is open in the first place.
If the GPS in the cab was not working, other things in the cab might not have been working as well.

It seems to me that she's seeking something. Attention is the generalized concept, but I'm not going to deny the possibility it really happened in some form. It could have been a taxi impersonation, but that's a bit of a manga-based thought. Attention is too general to actual mean anything. Everyone seeks attention, she wants something more specific.
Either way, she seems to be finding out the sort of wiccan mentality regarding sensationalizing and lying. Quite simply, what you do comes back to you three fold. If she is doing this for selfish reasons, or without integrity, she's seeing the backlash. It happens almost like clockwork. She needs to gain some self-awareness or she's going to bury herself.
Voice acting may lead to some pretty ass backwards fans, but that doesn't mean she has to consult them on everything.
