Konami’s Love Plus booth has been attracting attention, but because of the mountain of unsold boxes it contains, even on the last day of the event, rather than any interest in what it is selling ($65 sets for each of the girls, containing such wonders as stationary, bags and badges).
Visitors are said to be more interested in the pleasures of schadenfreude than in actually buying any of the overpriced junk on sale.

Well, we do not really know how much was sold, and probably these unsold boxes will be sent to stores Akiba-like, and Otakus who avoid crowed places probably will buy them.
Anyways, Konami should know that if something is selling well, it means everyone already has it, so the sales will obviously slow down.

Its probably something else like.. selling box sets of what they already have on the market (which all the otakus have), or not advertising it? I dunno I am sure theres something, just pretty sure its not that price. Which I agree is ridiculously extortionate btw.
I pay maybe a bit less than $65 (£25-£40 ish? for me) for most video games and expect (and get) hours and days and weeks of entertainment. I do not buy it for the plastic box so I can clutter my room and stare at it until the next game.

It's not the problem with the goods. 65 USD for a bag of random crap is standard for all the commercial booths at Comiket and the queues can stretch for 3 hours.
It's just that Love Plus is a shallow game and has no lasting appeal.

I just got back from day 3. There is no shortage in supply OR demand for Love Plus PORN.
-however, I will also say that yes, Ore no Imouto CRUSHES all others on Porn day this year. It took up about half of one hall by itself, and random tables spread all over elsewhere.

they doing it wrong! they should have programmed the game so that the love plus girls would ask the players to buy them stationery at certain date. those ronery boyfriends would not think 1sec to buy it for the girls.
They should've just sold a single PIECE OF PAPER for $65 with a code on it as a "present" for the girl, then programmed the girl to ask the player to buy it for her at comiket. Bam and instantly they're sold out.
Should've learned from Pokemon, giving away codes that unlock useless shit makes people go nuts and travel to other countries to pick them up.
